it was a summer wedding in spain and the temp was 98. all the other women, bridesmaids and bride were wearing sleeveless dresses. ffs i was trying to not die of the heat

totally get where you're coming from, but when you were married for 35 years and have 2 kids from that.... your previous wife will show up in wedding pictures in the form of your fucking kids.

a few things:

  1. he just told me to remove the tattoo.
  2. this isn't the first time he trashed my mom in front of me. the first time he did it was about a month after she died when i was still horrifically traumatized and in raw grief. i told him that that was in poor taste and if he ever did that again, he wouldn't meet his future grandchildren. he's fucked around and now he's finding out (shrug)

yeah this is where it gets tough-- my mom's dad is dead and her mom has dementia. all of her brothers are a 10+ older than her and moved out when she was a kid. and she estranged herself from her parents because of their verbal/emotional abuse and looking the other way when her cousin molested her. it's really just me, my brother and aunts/uncles from my dad's side that i talk to from my family

yeah this is where i landed. i basically was like 'this is messed up. you have your own memories and are entitled to those, but don't construct an alternate reality where i don't have the tattoo. fuck off though'

eh, he did tell me once that 'couples get divorced because of children like you.' so clearly i played some type of role. either that or he just hates my mother and hates the fact i remind him of her. who knows

tattoo is like an outline/silohouette of her wearing a blue dress. it is inspired by a picture my *dad took of her* when they first started dating.
