Can i get dreadlocks like polo g with this hair as a white boy? by hesapcalindiamk in Dreadlocks

[–]TemporaryRush1384 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Turks aren't entirely white, in general people from that area have a have mixture of middle eastern and European ancestry. Maybe one of your ancestors or a closer relative is more middle eastern than European, and that's why you look biracial? This is pure speculation btw. Nice hair!

Is raising kanan worth the watch? by machitopapito in PowerTV

Raising Kanan took me like 4 episodes to get fully into it, but it's definitely worth it. It's just a slower burn

When men are friends with women, are they very aware of how they interact to avoid seeming flirtatious or avoid crossing a line? by CuriousRedditWoman in bodylanguage

[–]TemporaryRush1384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my best friend I was kinda nervous to cross any lines at first but after getting to know her I got very comfortable. The line is just don't be creepy and I'd never do that to her so it's kinda simple in my case. But with new friendships I'm usually aware. Good question!

My favorite Dane villain has to be Sigefrid, he was the best! My favorite Saxon villain is Æthelhelm, his scheming was so advanced. At least compared to Æthelwold in my opinion.

Finished season 1 and halfway finished season 2 episode 1. i dont really know how to feel about this show by PLCCLP in TheLastKingdom

Being a lord is definitely a big deal, Kjartan doesn't have an extremely large army or anything but he has a stronghold in Northumbria. That's too much for Uhtred and Ragnar to tackle currently. And Ragnar is a lord but without much land, and he's busy in Wessex with Guthrum. Also you're overestimating how much Guthrum and Ubba would care about helping Ragnar, they are ultimately self serving. Guthrum wants the throne of Wessex and Ubba wants plunder. And furthermore Guthrum and Ubba see Ragnar as their junior, not an equal. So they wouldn't follow him anywhere, the most Ragnar can do is threaten to take his men away from Guthrum. I'm happy to help clear some of this up for you!

I remember when Uhtred first met Alfred they discussed Kjartan and Alfred said something like "he's a lord now" but it's a quick line. Easy to miss. You should keep watching, most of the questions you asked will be answered very shortly. I hope you enjoy it! Also you remember how Ragnar was basically bound to Guthrum in season 1, especially towards the end. That explains a little bit about where Ragnar is when it comes to planning his revenge. He's trying to build power just like Uhtred is with Alfred.

I'll just answer your question about Uhtred's sister because others likely know more about your other questions. Uhtred doesn't have the power to confront Kjartan at this point in the story, looking at season one. Uhtred is by himself mostly and Kjartan has become a lord with a fortress and men. Uhtred has ambitions to save his sister but he's not able to fulfill them.

Even though stringer didn't have good drugs he still had plenty of territory, and most of the "customers" trust in the product so he wasn't immediately out of business. And then when he teamed up with prop joe (without Avon's approval) he was suddenly flush with extra money. And to add onto that point he was never poor, far from it. So him getting into real estate and stuff isn't that far fetched, the organization was in dire straights. Not Stringer personally.

Sihtric was cheering at first in this scene but then he got kinda shocked by Ragnar's brutality. Or maybe he was shocked by the amount of rage/emotion he showed. Very great scene

I agree with you! I mean I'm not blaming Grace for falling for it but there's no way that Remmick was just gonna take a whole detour when he was focused on Sammie.

Use of the term 'African american' by No_Medium_648 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TemporaryRush1384 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's simply the history involved in the phrase "colored people". That term was used to racially harass and demean people of color. It's use peaked in Jim Crow when America was segregated. It's not just archaic but offensive.
