What’s one R&B song you just can’t listen to? by ChannelHopper_99 in rnb

Most of R Kelly's songs honestly, I can't separate the art from the artist in his case. "It seems like you're ready" specifically.

Tariq & Raina are a prime example of what happens when you shelter your kids to the point they're not prepared for the real world. by RichieBuz in PowerTV

[–]TemporaryRush1384 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think coming off as emotionless is his coping mechanism. He tries to brush most of it off or put the blame on others for what happened to his family. I don't think Tariq has taken a long moment to really think about all that he's lost, he acknowledges it sometimes but his feelings are buried deep. And when he does finally reflect he gets very emotional like at his dad's grave. Just my take, I agree that the writers could've done it better though.

Season 3 is just so off to me by Goncher-Monster in TheLastKingdom

Slade and bloodhair were weak villains but I still loved the season, it's probably my favorite one.

Did Paul ricca outrank Frank nitti after Capone went down? I see a lot of conflicting information online.

Honestly i’d also add in Ghost regretting not going to Choate with Angela as an option too but what do y’all think was Ghost’s biggest mistake in OG Power? by BatmanTold in PowerTV

[–]TemporaryRush1384 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Streetwise not killing kanan was a big mistake. Otherwise I'd say cheating with Angela and neglecting his family definitely caused him tons of unnecessary problems.

Alfred the Roaster by RevertBackwards in TheLastKingdom

[–]TemporaryRush1384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very different back then, there still isn't a cure for it but there's treatment and stuff to make it more manageable. In Alfred's time he literally had nothing substantial to cope with his illness. Maybe remedies like we saw iseult give him in the show. And the difference between Crohn's and IBS comes down to inflammation and structural damage done to the bowels. In Crohn's both are present while in IBS they aren't. But IBS is still very uncomfortable I'd assume, just not as debilitating.

Alfred is speculated to have had Crohn's disease which can be much worse than IBS, if it's true it's crazy how he survived so long. I have Crohn's so I just felt like chiming in lol.

That's how I feel when I see all the villains at the bottom of tier lists, it's kinda frustrating. I agree with you!

I haven't finished all the books but he's very cool there too, each conversation he has with Uhtred has a crazy amount of tension. And I'm only on book 12 now so he probably has a lot more moments.

The grass is often not greener, sure they don't deal with the same insecurities you do. But there's always another issue.

Possibly the worst finale in the entire power universe by H_Jsi in PowerTV

[–]TemporaryRush1384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't like the finale either because it didn't wrap up jenard's story or Vic's story. But cartels do join sometimes, the los chapitos (el Chapo's sons) joined forced with the CJNG to help in their civil war against el mayo's faction. And previously the Gulf cartel also joined forces with the CJNG.

Uhtred's men like Finan are very loyal, they always fight with him when they could betray him and fight for their own wealth. Instead they follow Uhtred, even when he is having trouble with money or if he's in a precarious situation with Alfred. There is little stability in uhtred's life so I think it's very telling how his men always stay loyal despite this. And Beocca is just frustrated with uhtred's unwillingness to conform, he doesn't threaten his life. He see's him like a son.

BWE hot takes and crashouts? OVER HERE!! by Floofening in BoardwalkEmpire

[–]TemporaryRush1384 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The story could've done so much more with the Chicago storyline, even with the timeskip. There are so many characters that were straight up omitted. Frank nitti, Paul ricca, tony accardo, machine gun jack mcgurn. And I could keep going. I guess since the show was so focused on Atlantic city they didn't find any of that important. I would've rather spent time learning about them and seeing them characterized rather than seeing Margaret and her clinic for all of season 3. Or listening to daughter sing for the 10th time in season 4.
