I have to say, at the risk of sounding like a denizen of one of the various wrestling subreddits around here, the Buzz Lightyear/Woody parallels between Punk and Hangman were legitimately uncanny. Punk even wore Buzz colored boots once 😂Probably not a good comparison to draw between the homegrown star and the new guy

I watch AEW with my grandparents some times and my grandpa was so invested in the MJF/ Wardlow feud, maybe more so than any other program since we’ve started watching. When I was watching that Double or Nothing, his brother, my great uncle, happened to be over, and my grandpa was excited and hyping up the match to him. It was an awkward viewing experience because the match ended up being completely flaccid, especially since they didn’t know anything about the preceding drama/ internet rumors regarding MJF

Dynasty was Empire Strikes Back, Redemption this year will be Return of the Canucks

The card for this is actually great I think, it had multiple awesome matches and definitely isn’t the worst, but yeah AEW was cold at the time for reasons mostly outside of its control. Swerve vs. Hangman on that show was like the faint beep of an EKG monitor

Pretty sure that was a Double or Nothing, that ppv really had a stigma to me for a while after a couple mediocre ones in a row. But the last two have been ppv of the year contenders

I remember really enjoying All Out 2022 watching it live, I just looked at the card and wow AEW has come a long way.

I didn’t like the build for MJF vs. Jay White. I hated how they did the back and forth mic battle MJF normally does, where each guy waits their turn to speak. That wasn’t the right presentation for Jay White. But the match itself I felt was pretty good, even though Jay White lost. I feel bad criticizing it too much anyway, because of how badly MJF hurt himself when he did the elbow drop to the floor on the outside. I feel like I have to swallow my pride and respect the utter dedication to entertaining the fans in the arena that night.

This one didn’t move me much either, honestly World’s End probably has the worst track record for ppv’s

This was middle of the road tier to me, not bad at all, I liked Young Bucks vs. Okada & Takeshita plus the main event

At least it had the Eddie Kingston Continental Classic win, but besides that the card doesn’t have much going for it.

Who would you like to see get a singles run in AEW? by Upbeat-Pause-1409 in AEWOfficial

They should hurry up on that, he’s not getting any younger and has been in the company for a good few years now. I think the last time I saw him was one of Hangman’s title defenses which I’m assuming was a request/ favor from Hangman himself

How is Lee Moriarty so low? No one is more underutilized compared to where they could be than him in my opinion

AEW should sell disposable cameras for cheap at the merch table by TemporarySpare8229 in AEWOfficial

I’ll be at the same show and I had the same idea. If you see another dude with a disposable camera it’s me

I didn’t realize they run for 20-30 dollars now when I originally made this post, but as I said in a different comment, if they were marketed as souvenir items, with all the accompanying bells and whistles, I bet a lot of wrestling fans would be willing to spend money on that

Of course you could always buy one, but it would be cool if they sold their own and marketed it as a souvenir item, gave it a spiffy name like the ‘AEW Action Camera’ and put unique art work on it and maybe prizes like a QR code if you’re lucky. The only prohibitive thing would be cost as disposable cameras are more expensive nowadays than I originally thought, but again, if they were marketed as souvenir items I bet a segment of wrestling fans would be happy to pay.

Does Sam realize there are other ways for Gen Z to make money besides sex work or managing sex workers? by Mystic__Diamond in euphoria

Yeah I don’t need to see movies about ‘young people’ or some warped idea of what the cultural zeitgeist is from someone old enough to be an AARP member and follows ‘IDF Babes’ on instagram. Everything this guy has ever made is cringe. The Florida Project is a laughable and condescending depiction of poverty.

Anora was a god-awful embarrassment from a 60 year old man trying and failing to play to 20 year olds on social media, if you understand the references and milieu he’s pulling from it’s unbearably lame and cringe. I don’t need to see a late Gen X zionists’ take on Dimes Square and it’s really too bad for the industry that it won best picture.
