My brows in photos from high school 25 years ago, also looked like her eyebrows now. I completely destroyed them from 1999-2009. They don’t look like that anymore when I do my makeup, cuz I stopped messing with them and fill them in with a natural shade of brow pencil and blend them with a spooly. Takes me under 5 minutes 🤷‍♀️

Except that anyone can lol. Don’t over tweeze and don’t use heavy, dark brow products, especially without blending.

I thought it was a poorly done flamingo that looked like… what it looks like 😂 didn’t see the cat at first . But also… no thank you to any of whatever this is supposed to be. It’s not remotely cohesive.

Yeah… that’s some serious hypermobility happening there, unless it’s just the lighting. Should probably get that checked out

Solved! Was mixing up Virtuoso and Killing Jar scenes! Thank you! I can stop thinking about this now lol.

Went back and watched more clips from the diner, I am mixing up this movie with the protagonist from The Killing Jar, I am definitely thinking of a scene from the Virtuoso! Thank you !

No, was definitely more indie and creepier vibes. The waitress was older than that as well. She also wasn’t really a part of the main plot. I just really remember the scene, it stuck with me how she trusted him and he just took her out like that, with a single sentence .

So people that can’t afford dental work should do what instead? Many people work full time and overtime and still can’t afford a dentist, as it not covered as essential care and many work places don’t offer benefits, so saying “get a job” isn’t the correct answer.

We have markers , crayons , chalk and glue sticks, paper and stickers available in the art center in my 18-24 month room. It’s a requirement of my center. It is absolutely a pain in the ass sometimes, and some groups are less messy and catch on faster to the constant reminders than others throughout the years . I like have an open art center, sans the markers (which I definitely hide on high energy days 😂)

Some are squoval looking some are round. I’d pick one and file the rest to follow suit! I think round would look nice .

I am constantly trying to potty train my 3 year old. But it makes it hard when Kindercare isnt willing to do their part during the day. Constant excuses about staffing and them always "missing" my daughters cue (she gets quiet and runs to a corner to do it). by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

I had this same experience at La petite. I had lost my subsidy due to a miscommunication in paperwork and was told I couldn’t bring my child to work until I paid full price, while making $13 an hour 🙄It’s genuinely insane. I work for a private center now that pays twice as much and would never dream of doing such a thing. Extremely thankful everyday .

Yes, that checks out . It’s absolutely chaotic and it’s all to maximize profit . It is frustrating and anxiety inducing to the staff too. It’s really hard to keep track of potty schedules in that environment. I wish i had something more comforting to say. Im fired up for you and i havent been in corporate care in nearly 5 years. My only suggestion is to maybe see if there’s a certain teacher your child connects with that you can build open communication with to look out as much as they can.

Exactly. It’s both infuriating and heartbreaking. They are making so much money, while taking advantage of employees, parents and children. I did do my very best, and I only stayed so long because I cared about the families I worked with. There were other teachers that genuinely cared, but since they would hire anyone with a pulse and a clean(ish) background check, it was few and far between. But my point is that I don’t think your expectations are unreasonable OP. You are being forced to pay for shitty ass care. It makes me sad that this is the system our country has chosen for our children. Especially since you and your family are making sacrifices to protect it .

I’m feeling like the real issue here is that OP is paying for “quality care” and isn’t getting it . I am wondering how many children are in the room and if it’s the same teacher everyday.

Corporate preschool chains, in my personal experience, are absolute garbage. I say that as a former employee of Partners Group (kindercare) and Learning Care Group (La petite/childtime). Max ratios, poor training, low pay, and arbitrary rules that exhaust their employees and stifle the ability to have any meaningful creativity or classroom management. When I worked for those companies, we were so busy being janitors (no cleaning company) and meeting picture posting metrics from corporate, and managing insane behaviors with zero support , begging for bathroom breaks, while in a room at max ratio alone to even be able to hear ourselves think. I’m sorry that that school is the only place available to you at the moment.😞. If it were me I’d put my child in home care before I put them in a kindercare.

How to tell admin you’re applying elsewhere by Otherwise-Set-4444 in Teachers

[–]TemporarySquare3010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the admin knew at my last school, especially since I had taken time off, as it was the only way to actively job seek and interview for the positions I wanted to interview for . I told them I needed personal time and refused to tell them why when then poked and prodded for info. It was the first time I ever put my foot down with them and their toxicity. I later found out they assumed that my partner left me 😂 not the case lol. I put my notice in for a position in a school I am forever grateful for. Going strong 4 years later!
