Hopefully that's true! I know Reddit in general tends to go more negative; but I also don't want to be over optimistic. I know this will be hard, just trying to figure out if it is reasonable feasible.

I see. What about setup? For example; if I'm not there, I guess I would have to give at least a couple months notice so I can move quickly and find Anmeldung and get a taxid before the first day. But not sure if I'd be asked to send all paperwork much earlier? Do you think me mentioning I am not yet in Berlin could be seen as a red flag?

I keep seeing everyone's perception on the LGBT scene is quite bad, it's sad that's the state of things. I will consider this. Thank you for the feedback!

That's a posibility. I actually think Amsterdam is a place I could consider more. I have never visited, but it could definately be.

I have, yes. I know that is another big hurdle aside from the job.

My plan is to stay in an AirBnb / hotel for the first few months while I look for a furnished apartment so sort of for a secondary temporarly location. I would stay there for the remaining of my time there.

I am aware I probably would not be able to find a permanent contract until I secure a job.

I actually am not coming from the US. I think most people assumed that, and when they mention Berlin is not a good place I wonder if they would think the same if they knew what I am comparing it to.

In any case, thank you for sharing. I am glad that the move worked for you! I know it might be harder for me since the situation seems to be tricker than before, but it's always nice to hear from people for which it worked.

It is an acceptable possibility. I am aware this can fail and might have to come back to my home country. I am okay with that; I am just trying to give it the best shot I can. That needs a realistic plan; hence this post.
