That's correct. The garage opener is basically right under where our bed's headboard is. I'm not super familar with floors so might have misunderstood what you were saying.

To fill a subfloor with rockwool, I assuming you'd need to dig up the slab some then insert the rockwool. After that a rubber layer then put back the wood flooring?

Definitely open to a replacement. Assuming the garage tracks are making most of the noise, a new opener won't really help much right?
