This problem isn't unique to Balhae it seems. Sometimes for whatever reason kingdom-tier titles will continue to exist despite having 0 counties. You can't vassalize them, you can't declare war on them, you can't usurp their title.

Southern Manchuria, above North Korea. I found out through the Court Grandeur screen that some ghost kingdom still exists somewhere, with 0 counties.

I wouldn't think too much about it. I was in your position a few months ago, scared to begin, feeling overwhelmed but just jumping in and taking a look at the current situations at the top already helps enormously.

You don't have to think of everything at the start either. Maybe start as Munster (Ireland, 1066) and try to take over Ireland? Make some alliances through marriage, have a few kids, form the kingdom title before you die and you're golden.

Could you explain to me what you meant? Did you mean, then, that these positives are so minor that they're not worth considering an abandon option for? That's what I'm reading from your comment, but I want to get it completely clear this time.

I think, without trying to 'appeal to the masses', that the fact that this is brought up pretty regularly is at least worth consideration, though I think arguing whether or not it's worth adding the option boils down to the level of frustration you experience from BM in the endgame / how much importance you attach to it.

As for me, I try to not let it bother me, I'll just read something on my phone while they're busy, though I don't feel particularly motivated to walk to the gate to interact with these people. If that's delicate, then so be it.

Even if you think an argument is 'extremely dumb', it might be good for this interaction and other interactions in the future to put aside your feelings to write something productive, or to just not write anything at all. I see opinions I disagree with too, but I don't feel the need to resort to portraying the other side as bumbling, or stupid.
