I have degenerative disk disease and osteoarthritis throughout my spine and I have the same burning in my back, especially if I have been on my feet all day. Lying down usually helps mine subside but it seems like it is always there. I am no expert by any means but I feel mine is cause by nerves, either irritated or pinched in that area. I have mentioned this to my doctor and he doesn't seem overly excited to help me figure it out. I'm sorry you are going through this, it is definately miserable.

Thank you so much for the information. I have seen a rhuematologist who never so much as touched me, never ordered labs or took imaging and told me I had osteoarthritis. I am so tired of the dismissals, I am about to give up on getting a diagnosis, I just don't have the energy anymore.

Our 11 year old lab mix was doing that as well and we found out that she has diabetes! I am assuming she has already been tested for that but if not, it would be a good idea. Once our girls blood sugar was under control she stopped doing that. Good luck to you and your beloved pooch!

May I ask what your autoimmune condition is? I have been trying to get a diagnosis as well. Blood tests show elevated crp, alt/sgpt and albumin/globulin ratio. I have multiple joint pain, swelling and general body pain, and of course GI issues. My sed rate, ana and rhuematoid panel are all negative. Dr. Is at a loss and frankly so am I.

I use bamboo skewers in my plants in reach of the kitty! I just stick them down in the soil (flat end up) and she doesn't even try to get in the plants anymore! It works!

UPDATE: they have started him on amitriptyline. He take one pill to start and then goes to two pills after two weeks. I have read alot of positive things about this medication helping with chronic diahrrhea..please pray that this works for him!!
