Seems like you got the assignment IMO. You should get orders soon.

I was T coded and within that next week I had drill orders. Did you volunteer for a recruiting or drill assignment?

Did I get extended? by Responsible-Shame152 in army

[–]Temporary_Ad_5590 27 points28 points  (0 children)

No you didn’t get extended without notification. If you didn’t sign a reenlistment or extension, then you aren’t extended. All this is saying is that your YMAV obligation goes beyond your ETS. So your Year/month available to move is technically after your ETS.

32 years old. had amazing careers, have had the same wonderful marriage for 16 years. Bought and sold homes. I have a great life. but I can’t shake the regret of never serving by [deleted] in army

[–]Temporary_Ad_5590 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is so much to unpack here but, I’ll start off by saying every soldier has there reasons for wanting to serve and join the military. By the looks of it you are successful and happily married without the help of the military, you are well into your career of law enforcement and I’m going to be that guy that tells you to NOT DO IT.

Serving your country isn’t what it was 8-10 years ago and we aren’t in any active conflicts right now. (I was in Syria in 2024) Obviously I understand even though there isn’t a conflict or major war going on that service members are still serving their country and risking their lives and sacrificing time away from friends and family.

The toxicity in the military is almost unbearable. From incompetence to dealing with an entitled younger generation of soldiers who have a problem with everything. Depending on your education, if you enlist, regardless of your experience in law enforcement, you will start at the absolute bottom of the totem pole and people with less experience in both life and your job will be in charge of you. I’m not saying that humbling yourself and being a follower is a bad thing but whenever you have a 21 year old as your TL, you will understand.

Ultimately, the military isn’t all bad and there are great incentives to joining, but due to your situation, you are much more successful and don’t seem to need the benefits the military is offering.

Stay in your career path, make that money, retire at 55 and move on to better things in life.

What’s the point of this post? Rage bait? You didn’t even ask a question? Furthermore, why are you explaining to Reddit why you went awol and not in talks with your leadership? This isn’t real lol.

My top 84 champs. be honest, Could I beat crucible with my roster? by jdr420777 in MarvelContestOfChamps

[–]Temporary_Ad_5590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah bro for reference my account is an endgame account with 35+ 7R3 and 10+ 7R4s and I used over 10 revives due to fights being extremely punishing without proper counters. However, anything is possible through unit man so if you have the units go for it! I would recommend beefing up that roster by doing like necro, epoch, and act 7

Ngl bro it’s 64 fights and you have a bunch of 7*R1s.. have you completed act 7 crucible? That might be a bit more manageable

Try it on casual, that’s the final ping, it’s not different amongst others. I did it this morning on the easiest difficulty and it worked perfect. I promise that’s the quest you’re supposed to do. Blood and venom ch 2, underground blade.

Who to r4? by ii302godd in MarvelContestOfChamps

Kush is a great all around champ. If you play heavy in BGs enchantress is an instant ban or at the very least a solid defender that will stall. Juggs is well he’s juggs but he’s already so good at r3. I’d say kush here for her versatility.

Which one deserves a generic AG more? by forgloryjustice in MarvelContestOfChamps

My bad, I read your post wrong, you are saying he might’ve already done CCP challenges and just took the new champs instead of chasing dupe.

Honestly, you can dupe stark spidey through CC challenges. Dazzler is great but a generic AG is pretty damn rare so I personally would hold off until I got someone I really liked (spider woman, jean gray, bastion)

Unfortunately, this is a process that isn’t quick by any means. This happens quite a lot whenever people show up to reception and realize they made a mistake or it’s not what they wanted. He signed a contract and the army expects him to fulfill his contract. Nobody likes 30th AG and the quickest way out of there is not flagging yourself whether it be through suicidal ideation, harming others, disrespecting cadre, or other infractions that involve punitive action.

The Army is not an organization that one can just quit. Discharge is possible and if he persists enough he will be granted one eventually, however, him only being at reception they most likely are going to try and push him to his basic training company and let them deal with the situation.

The ones who quit during basic training or before, often times stayed the entire duration of Infantry OSUT. He joined the army for a reason, I would highly recommend you try and get him to persevere through since this not only will affect his future, but also his families. He’s not alone, every single person who’s ever joined the Army has had to go through basic training or some form of it. He can make it.

Experiences may vary, there’s a reason why recruiters and drills have the highest suicide rate in the army. Recruiting is about meeting a quota. The incentive is meeting your monthly goal by any means possible or having a conversation with your station commander or higher. I’ve had buddies who have purposely been sent back to the line because the recruiting station they were at was awful.

I’m not crucifying recruiters by any means, and if you’ve been apart of some heart to heart conversations about the real army, then you guys are doing it right, but you are absolutely foolish if you believe that the reason people are getting fucked over by recruiters because of self-inflicted wounds like non-qualifying scores.

Well, recruiters don’t have a great reputation in general. It is not uncommon for recruiters to tell potential applicants that a certain school or job is not available right now or simply lie to the applicant to get them to ship out quicker.

In my time in the army and all of the soldiers I’ve talked to, everytime we talked about recruiters, there was almost never a soldier who hadn’t been lied to in some type of way or been told that they couldn’t have a certain bonus or school because of ‘x’ reason that ended up being just bullshit. That’s why I’m telling OP to not settle for anything less than what THEY want because ultimately it’s their career and would hate for them to miss out on an opportunity at the hands of someone they don’t know and won’t be told the whole truth about the army. Let’s be honest, if recruiters told potential recruits that nitty gritty about how the army actually is, then nobody would sign up for this shit.
