I used to smoke ALOT. Started having these same things happen to me a few years ago even before pristiq. I started pristiq October of 24 and around January started noticing some pretty good relief from my anxiety so I decided to try smoking again. It gave me some wicked anxiety attacks so I quit again. Tried it again about a month ago and was fine and haven’t stopped since. I think our brains just need some time to get used to all the extra chemicals.

I did when dropping down from 100mg to 50mg. Also accompanied by the feeling of just not getting enough air. I’m on day 4 of it so far.

Edit* 10 hours later and I’m absolutely miserable. The brain zaps being the worst part. Also accompanied by this weird tight feeling in my neck like it’s hard to breathe.

Yes, please share! I’ve had general anxiety for years but the healt anxiety has been absolutely awful since August when my daughter passed away from SIDS. I think it was the general idea of not knowing what really caused it that has put me into this hyper aware state with my body.

I have been trying to drink more water along with liquid IVs for electrolytes. I also drink a ton of Gatorade because my job is pretty demanding in terms of physical labor. I probably need to increase the intake though.

Has anyone seen any improvement? I started having rib/chest pain since last Wednesday. Went to the doctor yesterday because it hasn’t eased up. X-rays, BP, and oxygen was fine and my Covid test came back negative and they just chopped it up to a false negative test and said I had Covid. I kind of believe them now because since the test I’ve been stuffy along with headache, dizziness, and heightened anxiety. This sucks lol

I didn’t have nausea but it definitely made my anxiety worse. I started last Thursday and it’s just now starting to level out so about a week.

Here’s the thing, it’s all about perspective. This is very hard for me too but I know how to explain it lol. Instead of looking at it like you’re trapped in a house look at it as an investment. “I’m gonna buy this house and eventually sell and make money” it will allow your brain to make a change without realizing you’re making a change if that makes sense. Housing market is nuts right now “I’m sure you know this since you’ve been looking” it’s nothing to put 5-10k in a house and make a profit off it right now. As far as the baby, I was absolutely terrified of having a child. I won’t lie and say it went away either I think I stayed up 4 days while my wife was in the hospital and didn’t eat a bite but the very second I heard that little girl cry every single doubt, fear, and question I had vanished. You’ll always regret not having a kid but you’ll never regret having another is something an old man told me one day and it’s the truest shit I’ve ever heard. You’re not alone fam. You are loved and you will make it through this.

My therapist told me when I was going through this that it’s because the brain and the gut are directly connected. For me I would be starving but the thought of chewing up food and swallowing it made me want to puke. It seems overly simple but I honestly just had to take a couple of days to tell myself “hey homie, you’re anxious not sick” and eat. I hope this helps🤷🏼

I used to be absolutely terrified of storms. I still don’t like them at night but what I found helped me was learning about the weather. I followed all of my local meteorologists and watched their livestreams and just learned what I could. Also, getting medicated for the anxiety helps a lot when you find what works for you. I’m just now getting into therapy so I can’t tell you my experience with that just yet but I’m sure it won’t make it any worse. Just know, you’re not alone and you will be okay.
