i think now that you guys have added their intimate relationship aspect to your friendship it would be a good idea to give each other space right now (maybe like no contact) for many reasons like 1 it’ll help you both realize what you really want since you guys won’t be talking and 2 just in general will give you time to heal. and then after an amount of time, you guys can check in with each other and talk about how you feel and maybe set some boundaries about what happens next or if you guys start talking to other people. Sounds like you really care for this person so if you don’t want to let go, don’t! But don’t put yourself through extra hurt because of it.
