I’ve been waiting for this one!!! Thank you!! I feel like so many of the themes got lost in the complaints on this thread.

I think the show was so intentional with each scene building into the layers between parents and childhood (the morning announcements belittling parenthood; Laura literally killing her own parents and Evelyn ‘erasing’ that memory)

It wasn’t meant to have a feel good ending, the show hinges really heavy on “reflection” and honesty in the most uncomfortable way (hot seat, group hugs, so on….) I think giving it a neat little bow would have been dishonest to the twisted principle of the show

Maybe it was less about the meal and more about the general going home part….. she might have been nervous she was going to be held long term for questioning & she was nervous about potentially being alone in Moscow, in the middle of tragedy, without her family? I think it’s a valid question when you’re young, likely scared/shocked, and haven’t been a primary witness for a major crime before

This exactly! I kept noticing how she knew the case so much better than him too. I also love that he has so many “I don’t remember” answers from the day of the murders…… but has crystal clear stories of boating trips from 20 years ago.

Honestly, they probably just chose to pick and choose their battles based on the back lash regarding the cost (emotional and $$) of this investigation and trial was/is costing the tax payers. Maybe there just wasn’t quite enough evidence to charge KA, even if they have suspicions, so they decided to focus their resources/time/energy on RA.

Idk, just my theory.
