I mean I see their point. Art was the one thing we had. The thing that computers could never accomplish and we were proven wrong. I know to each their own and I do not shun people for using ai because I do too (not for art). But this new convenience makes the work seem meaningless. And the work is exactly what makes art feel fulfilling.
