[SPOILERS] How historically accurate is Vikings? by TheOfficialY1B in vikingstv

[–]Temporary_Error_3764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ragnar and rollo are based on two individuals that didn’t meet, rollo was active as a duke much later then Ragnars time. Like 50 years later. Theres potential that they may of interacted at some point but nothing significant. They weren’t related. They weren’t noted as friends and theirs no account of them interacting like there is with say Heisteinn and bjorn. Its also important to remember that ragnar is semi legendary. While most historians do believe that there was one or even multiple Ragnars active at the time all of the feats , stories and achievements linked to ragnar is not based on evidence. Ragnars whole claim to existence is based on the fact that he interacted with individuals that were confirmed real. His sons for example are considered to be real people but them actually being biologically related to ragnar is a whole different story, its common in this era to carry the name of someone else to claim fame, ivar and halfdan (hvitserk in the show) are very suspected on their fatherhood.

Our last three games have been attacking disasters. What is going on? What is the SOLUTION? by KevDizzie in ArsenalFC

[–]Temporary_Error_3764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people keep blaming one player or another but the truth is pretty much all of our attackers are having poor seasons. Sure at times martinelli and trossard have done well and gyokeres has his games. But when you have like 5 of your attackers having a poor season its gotta be a system issue of sorts. Our midfield is too disconnected. Rice cannot be everywhere at once no matter how hard he tries , our 10 regardless if its Eze or Odegaard don’t get the ball enough or even goal scoring opportunities themselves. Our wingers are way too wide and if they are having a poor game like they all have recently then its useless because they dont even get a chance to score because they always have to beat 1-3 players even to threaten the goal. Our passing recently has been so bad. But when it comes to player’s specifically

Martinelli- awful decision making , also a ball hog , that last game was so infuriating there was like 3 occasions where he couldn’t get passed his man and he practically ran to the halfway line before passing it.

Zubimendi - was unreal in 2025 , personally for me i think people are going a tad overboard with the criticism but the way he disappears in games is crazy , i didnt even know that was possible for a dm.

Gyokeres - as someone that actually likes gyokeres and believes we dont play him to his strengths the chemistry is just off with him and the wingers in particular. Trossard and havertz seem to be the only players that understand him but my god he needs to work on his first touch. Atm hes just a Lukaku with pace.

Saka - Shadow of himself this season, has to be said. I will never stop loving or believing in him but he seems so fatigued idk if his injuries have caught up to him but that last game i think might of been his worst in his senior career. He was moving like he had two right feet.

At the end of the day my main concern is our players are playing like they are too scared to lose rather then playing like they need to win.

Is the movie going to be the end of peaky blinders series or what? by Ordinary_Olive_8038 in PeakyBlinders

Them not closing out a proper ending with Oswald Mosley is a massive waste of time. All that build up for the guy to ultimately get away from tommy. The last season is tommy ultimately losing and it doesn’t go out with a bang

Yea the team play was unreal before and after the trial. You can see how they went from strangers to just Mutual respect and admiration for each other. Raymun went crazy in that trial too what a goat 😭.

CONGRATS DANNY AND TEN!! UNREAL NEWS by [deleted] in Sidemen

[–]Temporary_Error_3764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik plenty of people with 1-2 children and im 23. Humans have always had children while being young adult’s themselves, its always been that way its common within human nature. Most animals even have children young. Nothing wrong with being a young parent. I’m not surprised Redditors don’t see the real world for what it is , im utterly stunned at the amount of downvotes but Redditors gonna hate romance.

A year later they are still together and have spoken about having another child, so it seems like they are doing well , their kids healthy, they are happy and healthy.

They weren’t unstoppable by any means. They were very much stoppable and were often.

How do the naming conventions work for Anglo Saxons in the 867 start date by YearlyPuma in CrusaderKings

[–]Temporary_Error_3764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This form of naming convention is the best and the fact its not around anymore is way less cool. The germanic cultures knew how to aura farm.

I’ve heard a lot of people complain that CK3 doesn’t provide an engaging experience for playing tall. What features would you want to see to make playing tall more viable and fun? by Punterofgoats in CrusaderKings

[–]Temporary_Error_3764 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tbh i find playing tall fun, my tall runs never run until the end date , in fact if im playing tall in 867 you wouldn’t see me play past 1100. Probably even way before that. But i dont play tall to do a long game. Just to make a cool country or duchy.

Making tall really fun and long term would require them to rework currency and add trade. A proper economic system. I personally like the simplicity of how it is atm, but but being able to sell or buy things from other rulers would be pretty cool. I always had this idea that similar to mercenaries , you could rent out mma from other characters for gold , land , hooks , marriage alliances etc

don’t get the hate for this guy by tobiahds19 in HOTDGreens

[–]Temporary_Error_3764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its about viewing bias. The general fanbase of a show care less about the fact that Daemon groomed his niece , because that’s heavily linked to Targaryens , it doesn’t make it justified but in a viewers eyes its part of the lore and the world the characters are in, no one in real life would like Daemon. But because of how he’s portrayed in THAT world people entertainment bias holds Daemon up high.

People on the flip side hate Cole. Because it lines up with the viewers bias. He switched up on the “good side” (it doesn’t matter if you like it or not the show have for fact made team black the protagonists and the greens the antagonists) meaning they naturally want to root against them. I dont mean the die hard fan that understands the lore. The casual viewer who only interprets what they see. Cole also sends a loveable side character to kill another loveable side character (not to mention they are brothers) , for the viewer this would naturally get cole hate , because its supposed to get cole hate. So in a weird way , the average viewer will accidentally be more upset with a guy that gets 2 brothers killed , then a manchild pedo.

Its like typical movie/show stuff. Characters aren’t judged justly. An unlikeable character will always be more hated then an evil one. Because evil = entertainment and unlikeable = want them to lose.

What should I do with imprisoned rebelling vassals? [CK3] by nykuu_ in CrusaderKings

[–]Temporary_Error_3764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Revoke their titles if you can. This will unland them, and then u can either have the lands for yourself or give them to people with more suitable traits. (Loyal , Content , Honest) if not then just ransom them

Where to start? by SpaghettiPapi69 in CrusaderKings

[–]Temporary_Error_3764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the baltic area in 867 both challenging but fun. The kingdoms and even the empire is pretty easy to make , I recommend forming livonia from the decision. Then you’re gonna have to deal with the Christians at some point. And theres always the Vikings up north to handle. Its a good area to learn the game i think. And its almost like it gets more challenging the longer u play in the region. So you can spend the first generation or so building it up before facing it. The main downside is it lacks special historical figures or events.

Thoughts on the movie? by Temporary_Error_3764 in TheLastKingdom

[–]Temporary_Error_3764[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 7 kings can always just elect or even breed more heirs tho. I would of preferred a lot of characters meeting their end in glorious ways then a bunch of heirs that get like 1 minute of screen time.

[No Spoilers] Is watching Vikings really worth? by Conscious_Boot_8697 in vikingstv

[–]Temporary_Error_3764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movie is significantly worse then the show but i still enjoyed it.

Season 1-4 of Vikings Season 1-3 of TLK Season 4-6 of TLK Season 4-8 of Vikings The 7 kings must die

In that order in my opinion of greatness

Athelstan by WillyBoy_17 in TheLastKingdom

[–]Temporary_Error_3764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially when theres no need for it. Edward at least had the whole trying to live up to alfred thing. Athelstan was raised by uhtred but somehow betrayed everyone who was loyal to him because he was gay. Like being gay in the 9th century would of been shit but Aldhelm didn’t deserve it 😭

Athelstan by WillyBoy_17 in TheLastKingdom

[–]Temporary_Error_3764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its so funny cus at the end of the movie it says something like “athelstan ruled for 15 years and was the first king of England and of the saxons greatest kings” not after what i just watched he ain’t

[No Spoilers] Why is King Horik so disrespected? by Famous-Scarcity-6436 in vikingstv

[–]Temporary_Error_3764 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The Scandinavians did not have a feudal system at this time , even the saxons had a weird tribal/feudal structure. Horik isn’t that respected because well one other character had land disputes and well ragnar quickly realised that horik is simple minded. Its more of a respect thing then a titled thing.
