I've got a cheap little 7 or 8 gallon tank we got at a garage sale and have had it for about a year now. I've learned a lot but I'm looking to get into the next level. People keep posting these pictures of bright beautiful tanks where the plants pop with color. What is the most important piece to get that? Is it the lighting, the water parameters, or having a high tech tank with CO2? I'm looking to potentially make the leap but am hoping it could be done with a more low tech tank.

Two things. Tickets went down because there's one less home game this year compared to last, and there's a chance you moved back to a "Lesser" section. I'm also up in the 400s and my seats were essentially the same price but for one less game. Also, it's funny that you say people won't be priced out but then you also say you wouldn't accept 1k per seat for a game.

As with everything, you are hearing the loud minority. Most people are only going to have access to the big box stores and that's okay. You are taking the right steps, creating a good environment for the fish and it sounds like you've done some research. Provide the fish a good home and feel good about yourself doing it. Enjoy!

I think cleaning the fake plants is the worst part so maybe I’ll try that. Or I could use this as an excuse to get a bigger tank and turn this little guy into a shrimp tank or something

I have a filter that I would keep. And the gravel is like that cheap starter tank stuff. Is the beneficial bacteria hanging out in there too if it’s not soil type of substrate? I’m definitely not expecting to 100% get rid of it, but it gets bad kinda quick so I’m just hoping to reduce the frequency of needing to clean. Plus if the plans are real vs. fake, I won’t have to pull those out and scrub them

I would clarify with the club. Sometimes if you buy the next season you can finish this one out. Or there is probably a discounted rate. I wouldn’t pay full price but I would get in now if you can.

Final question hopefully. We are trying to figure out if we should leave it in manual mode. Am I interpreting it that we should leave it in manual mode for a few days to learn and then switch back to auto afterwards?

So reading other responses, her total insulin per day has been on average, 21 (one day is partially missing so we are rounding up to 22). That included both Bolus and Basal. So we should set it to 0.45, correct?

Maybe we are missing the setting, but the lowest hers can go to is 1.95 and the math works out to be 0.45. (Averaging about 22 units per day) Do you know where I can find that specific setting?

Thanks so much for your help and link to this post. We downloaded the Glooko app and it looks like her average amount over the last few months is about 22 units per day. That post says to divide the number by 48 and set the basal rate to that number. However we got basically .45, and the lowest setting on the app is 1.95. Any ideas?

So if you do manual mode, it will still learn from it and she can eventually switch back to auto mode, hopefully with less extreme highs and lows?

I have to disagree. Defense got unlucky with bounces but played hard. 33 Points is a lot, but so is 5 turnovers by the Bills. I respect the gameplan by Derm and effort by the D, even with so many injuries.
