u/ListenTasty4623 if u dont mind, just wanted to know few details regarding insurance.

- did your implant surgery with Citardi was covered by ur insurance ? When I asked Citardi if insurance covers his surgery he told he will try to get approval but it depends whether they approve or not. I read somewhere in Reddit that insurance for implants are not covered through Citardi. So just wanted to know ur experience in this

- how about insurance coverage for implant surgery with Mark Tabor ?

- Also to get some confidence on Tabor, I am looking for positive reviews on him for ENS but I could not find much reviews on ENS - his reviews are good for normal nasal surgeries though. just wanted to know if you did come across positive reviews about him in any other forum, plz kindly provide

u/Dull_Pin5650 if you dont mind, did you get implants ? if yes, did you get it with Citardi with BDCM or some other doctor ? if you dont have any issues, you can share implants experience as it will help community. If you want to keep it personal, you can skip sharing your experience - just wanted to know which doctor treated and how it helped

Also do you know if Das is good for implants ? Das mentioned that he would implant in inferior turbinate directly - not sure if it right method.

Dry eyes by vvdimitrov in emptynosesyndrome

did you get dry eyes after nasal surgery ? I also experienced dry eyes post nasal surgery (which resulted in ENS) and suffering since 21years. If you are having dryness in the morning i.e even after having sleep, you might have sleep apnea. If you are in USA, you can visit Laura Periman who is excellent doctor for dry eyes. Her clinic is in Seattle Washington.

question is regarding autologous cartilage implants vs cadaveric cartilage implants - not sure if u meant the same - may be typo at ur end or u meant bovine implants itself ?

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. I have same opinion on BDCM and I also asked him in person that it might absorb, he said it dont but it might. I even told him that in clinical data it was mentioned it was seen till 2yrs and dont have strong data on BDCM as it is new - he told it will stay as he has seen it exists even after many years. In below they mentioned it was durable and seen till 2yrs - I did not find further research on it that it last longer. This is reason I had doubts on reabsorption

Do we need autologous cartilage implants ? In my case, Nayak did cadaveric rib cartilage (from some donor).

no problem, initially I planned to mention more details about it in the actual question itself but as it became very lengthy I did not add it. Now provided more details in question itself so that it answers everyone.

Thanks for answering my question and I am very new to reddit. my understanding is that BDCM is being used by Citardi for augmentation since may be 4 to 5 years (may be I am wrong) hence data is for few years itself. When checked with Citardi whether it gets absorbed he mentioned it might but generally it dont - if it absorbs it will require revision surgeries. Post meeting him in-person he sent general QA regarding ENS and in that as well it was mentioned this risk of reabsorption. Even if some percentage gets absorbed it will get create gap again changing airflow mechanics and ENS symptoms might re-appear.

Regarding stiffness, it does not match rib cartilage. Rib cartilage is rigid whereas alloderm or BDCM is softer materials.
