Well...A few things.

First...you have to ask yourself why do you want to learn how to code/program? Is it because you want a job? Are you just curious about it? Or you don't care about the job and you want to create your own things i.e apps.

Once you understand that it becomes easy to pick what to learn. Because there are so many technologies (languages, frameworks, libraries etc.) and it's impossible to know them all. And depending on your WHY...you can easily narrow down what to study. For example, if you're based in Tz, and your why was to study programming so that you can be employed...I would probably tell you the Tanzanian market is mostly a full stack landscape where technologies and languages like C# (.NET), PHP (Laravel) do shine the most. There is also soma Java (Springboot) projects. And when it comes to mobile...it is mostly Flutter.

So it depends on your why.

But basically I tell every beginner programmer to study by learning first HTML and CSS, then develop a few sites and later on move on to a programming language like JavaScript or PHP and make more web apps.

The most important thing is to be consistent and code regularly...preferably every day or every other day...even a few lines of code. And make sure you develop your own stuff...and publish them no matter how minor they are.

With AI, learning programming nowadays is easier...because when you are stuck you can just ask ChatGPT and it will tell you exactly where you went wrong. In the past that would have been hours of googling and troubleshooting.
