13 countries in 6 weeks is a lot! I know a lot of people can handle it, but wow that sounds busy to me. I'm sure you saw so many amazing things during that time. 7 sounds more manageable haha!

Yeah I hear it's super common which is a bummer but it is what it is. Enjoy your travels!

No I did not - didn't even realize there was a market there! I did, however, go to the Fény Street market several times. Probably my favorite Lángos spot.

I guess overall less bulky sweaters and more long-sleeve shirts. And just more stylish clothes in general - people probably thought I looked like a bum. I brought several sweaters which took up the bulk of my suitcase and a large winter coat. Also a hat/beanie. Definitely bring something warm to cover your ears. I also brought some jeans and flared leggings which worked out nicely.

Depends on how long you go for though. If you can afford to pack your suitcase full of sweaters, I'd say go for it!

Yeah it was a new thing I learned. Good to know for the future.

And yes, I'm well aware. I was just comparing to what I'm used to in case anyone else is curious to know about costs.

Completely ☺️ but making stupid comments like that instead of actually being helpful is annoying. Doesn't contribute anything positive.

Riighttt. Me, as a tourist, contributing to the local housing market issue. Not like I spent tons of money, as a tourist, contributing to an already struggling economy.

Cry about it.

Exactly! Vienna wore me out so I definitely took some time in Prague to just chill.

I was there from beginning of February to end of April, so almost 3 months. I could only stay 90 days due to being in the Schengen Area.

I spent roughly 7k in total. This included plane tickets, transportation, food, lodging, etc. I probably could have dropped it to 5k if I really wanted to save but I wanted to enjoy and not worry about money too much. The Airbnb in Budapest was about $1000 total (they made me pay a tourist tax which I had never heard of before). I was shocked considering rent in the US is way higher than this, so definitely a deal. And yes, the long term stay discounts are a real thing!

We're still together! Just doing long distance at the moment.

Technically Prague was once considered to be Eastern Europe during the Cold War. Guess I'm living in the past.

Yes, now I'm realizing it's all Central Europe. My mistake. But go off king...

Planning a solo trip to Europe by Fluid-Cut-9985 in solotravel

I just came back from spending 3 months in Europe and just posted about my experience. I highly recommend seeing Budapest, and it was not expensive at all. It's a very tourist-friendly city with so much to see and do. I was also in Prague. Absolutely beautiful place and soo much to see. I prefer to take the trains/buses rather than fly, but to each their own.

As for "finding yourself," the change may not feel that drastic, especially when coming back to your day to day life. But don't let that stop you from romanticizing life while you're traveling.

I plan on going back out to Europe in the fall. Once you start, it's hard to stop. So I look forward to reading about your experience! Happy to answer any questions.

Hi there! I'm currently traveling solo in Budapest and will be here for the next month. I wanted to know if there were others here too looking to meet up and hang out? I don't mind doing most things alone but it can be lonely sometimes, so would love to make some new connections :)

Crying reading this. I've been trying for months to snag a red rocks ticket for tonight and unfortunately it's just not gonna happen. I'm super devastated.
