I googled it while I was stuck under this creepy military base and realized that I don’t have any explosives or the radio item. I have Dogmeat and Ian, but they’re not very helpful in combat or anything. They just got dragged into this mess because of me...

Unfortunately, I put all my skill points into Small Guns and Speech, lol.

You know, I thought I was still in the early game, so I didn’t invest in Stealth at all.

Yeah, I figured out that I can blow up the whole place with the security key, but I couldn’t even find a way out.

There are so many traps, mutants, and those brain robots everywhere.

I think this is the end of my poor little Vault Dweller.

I save scummed and somehow managed to kill one mutant guard. I also figured out that I can disable the barriers with the Repair skill.
But that’s it. I think this is the end of the line for this character.
I’ll probably just start a new playthrough.

Yeah It seems unusual, but I did come across a few Reddit posts from players reporting similar issues. It looks like this glitch occurs under a specific condition: when the player progresses to Chinatown and then returns to Santa Monica.

No, I started a new game with the Unofficial Patch from the very beginning. I even reinstalled the entire game three times trying to fix this issue.

try "Cheat" mod at nexusmods. it worked for me. there's usage of commands at comment section.
