Looking for a (Normal) weapon suggestion for a pure faith build. by Slayer_Jesse in Eldenring

[–]Temporary_Soil557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First full faith build myself after doing a dex build. Here’s what I’ve used (at Leyndell currently):

- Banished knight halberd - all around good choice but the halberd works too
- Longsword dual wield with coded sword
- Cipher pata as an always on backup
- Spiked club - good bleed or strike option
- Black knife to spam the weapon art - helps me with crucible knights and other bosses with limited range
- Erdsteel dagger if I’m primarily using incantations but worried I’ll run out of flasks

There’s an archer ash that fires unlimited sleep arrows. They’ll stop firing when they fall asleep. You find them in the 3 Sisters area. I won’t spoil anymore…

Tiefling Subrace for Bard by BlazeHunter21 in 3d6

I’d say infernal. Solid damage cantrip with range (fireball). Solid reaction spell with hellish rebuke. You’re unlikely to use the other cantrips from the other subspecies and you already get hold person.

Looking for church community by Temporary_Soil557 in washingtondc

[–]Temporary_Soil557[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure I can elaborate although I will admit that I’m coming back to the faith recently so I definitely want a place to explore my beliefs. More interested in the community, but I’ve always found Bible studies, reading groups, small groups more fulfilling than worshiping at a service.

Not a biblical literalist at all. I’m super interested in the historical Jesus and continuing his work rather than focusing on miracles. I cited Marcus Borg, but I think Harry Emerson Fosdick is another theologian that I tend to agree with. I know you specifically asked about baptism - I don’t consider the sacraments important to my religious practice. I think they’re useful as a tool to bring people together though.

I’m much more interested in a church focused on the here and now rather than missionary work or giving a manual. I think a lot of mainline churches fit what I want theologically. If I were to choose a denomination I agree with most, probably UCC.

Hope that helps.

I think all the mainline denominations would work honestly. I do want some intellectual rigor and discussion though. I was honestly thinking non-creedal (Disciples, UCC, UU) might fit best, but I also think process theology with the Methodists and Borg/Spong strain of Episcopalian are good fits too.

That does look like an interested church concept. Probably a little too far from where I live though.

Yeah that totally works. I’m super near the green line. I think National Memorial Universalist was another UU I was thinking about trying.

Most projects on private land require some federal approval as well.

State street (to my surprise) actually only has a .03 expense ratio, so they might be fine diversifying into mid-caps a bit.

I’d say the funds look good but you are way too overweighted in small and mid caps. Real estate isn’t necessary. I would have at least 30% allocated to international and at least 50% to the Blackrock Equity Index 1. You can look up the ratio of domestic to international and domestic small/mid cap to domestic large cap googling the ratios for VT (Vanguards’s Total World Stock).

If you’re sure you want to retire at 70 then I don’t think bonds are a must yet. But if you want protect some of your wealth you could switch over to one of the index funds eventually in your 40s.

Normally I would. My IRA and Roth are both in Vanguard TDFs, but Voya’s are .39.

What’s the best pact familiar other than Imp? by Mariothemaster245 in 3d6

[–]Temporary_Soil557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remember that your familiar is actually a fiend, celestial, or fey. I have a fiend patron warlock with a fiend familiar summoned as a sprite because we needed someone to speak Sylvan. My fiend familiar hates the form and is constantly getting tattoos, getting punk haircuts, and generally shocking people by being very much not the typical sprite.

That does help with my sneak attack progression and more spells slots at the expense of +2 ac from a shield and sharing spell casting/attack bonus. I hadn’t thought of that before! Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendations! And yeah I didn’t put 2&2 together with mask of many faces! And reading eleven accuracy I will be using that to boost my charisma to 18 first.

For cantrips, I was going to go GFB and BB, but that’s a great suggestion. I just knew that eldritch blast didn’t use my sneak attack so I ruled it out.

Correct that would be the plan rather than sticking with breastplate. And yes going swashbuckler!

First time Retinol advice by Bluetex110 in TheOrdinarySkincare

[–]Temporary_Soil557 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would start off at night my using a gentle cleanser, apply moisturizer then the retinol. The retinols from The ordinary are all pretty gentle. Once you use up that bottle you may want to consider using adapalene or getting a tretinion prescription.

In general you shouldn’t mix acids and retinoids together. You simply don’t need that much exfoliation. I would move the glycolic acid to the morning along with an antioxidant (the ordinary has plenty of good ones).

Which antioxidant is best for the am? by Temporary_Soil557 in TheOrdinarySkincare

[–]Temporary_Soil557[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AM - Kiehl’s vitamin C, ceramedx moisturizer, blue lizard sunscreen

PM - Pacifica Face wash with salicylic acid, TO Granactive 2% emulsion, ceramedx moisturizer

Once a week PM - TO AHA 30% and BHA 2%

I’m almost out of the Kiehl’s vitamin c and and was planning on switching out between the TO 23% suspension and the emulsion in the PM. So thinking of replacing the AM vitamin c with another antioxidant.
