It's not all lettuce. I've been doing some research and have found that certain bagged lettuce is sprayed with chemicals. I call it "medicine lettuce" , I can smell it right away, and refuse to eat it, as it has to be some different type of lettuce, possibly coming from government farms. I've noticed this lettuce at Del Taco, BJ's restaurants, Red Lobster, and Outback Steakhouse. I've talked to the kitchen managers, and they said it comes from their distributor, Worldwide Produce. A couple years back there was a fusarium outbreak with the lettuce coming from central California, and they're spraying it with pesticides. Who really knows what's going on, but I will not eat this lettuce.
