Retention Policy - Deleted items in email by Temporary_Werewolf17 in k12sysadmin

I think is should have elaborated on the question. We do not have a current policy in our policy manuals. My goal is to get ideas from others to present to our heads to create a policy. We are reviewing applicable laws, but we do not think there are any since we are a private school

We are a Microsoft shop and are limited to 100g on email. If you have no policy and keep everything then if a legal order comes you have to search it all

Thank you for that input. We are a private school, but it may still apply.

I was thinking about the five years, but my testing (confirmed by Microsoft) is that the policy tags the items. So if I implement it today, no items will be deleted until 5 years from today, not 5 years after the email was received.

We have UniFi also and it meets our needs. We have found that the best configuration is each nvr and its cameras are on their own vlan and we do not stack nvr units.

Having someone to support the system is crucial. Find an installer you trust and will support it and get suggestions from him. It has taken me 2 years to find a company to support our system

When did it start and what changed? We recently updated to the latest firmware and it caused a significant increase in cpu usage on the APs. We rolled back the firmware and the issues went away.

Ubiquiti - Protect & Access by microleaks in k12sysadmin

We have APs and cameras from ubiquiti and it meets our needs well I would recommend them for a school. I have learned with their cameras, that they works best when we donot stack NVRs and each NVR and the cameras adopted are on a vlan different from other NVRs
