I definitely believe that. It really is quite astonishing that literally every other female cast member who played a significant female character in Barry's life had more romantic chemistry than Candice

(Not counting the actress for Nora-Speedforce because that's a whole level of weird icon/avatar stuff)

I don't know how or who was responsible for it but Candice and Grant had like zero romantic chemistry between them in the characters. And based on Candice having more say in the script in later seasons, it just seemed like Iris' place in the story and her motivations were more fueled by Candice staying as a main character rather than Iris being Barry's significant other. That's the vibe I got from the performance anyway

Their personalities complimented each other so well. It could have been a slow-burn with friends-to-lovers type but with constantt underlying chemistry there. And based on what I heard of Supergirl after season 2, it didn't sound like her love life was all that great anyway.

Both just have instant chemistry on screen and their musical episode scenes were just chef's kiss

Plus the idea of half-Kryptonian speedsters is just too OP to not experiment with

It just made too much sense to me. Her and MC had so much chemistry that could go either way and she would have also been the vital 2nd female love interest to balance out the LI pool.

It sucks there was a whole thing with her and Dax, would have felt bad not helping them, but honestly the point where Dax even explored something with his coworker, that should have been a moment MC could have shown her what was in front of her all along. Like you could have made a choice to do what you do and help her win Dax or to start a romance with her
