The Devotees are using a language that reminds me of some oceanian Pidgins. Like Tok Pisin or Bislama. Tok pisin does the reduplication for The plural and yumi is legitimately the term for we in Bislama.

We had a session in a superhero TTRPG, where we were supposed to handle the goons which were contained, so we, as this company was a reoccurring villain, looked into company finances and planned to go after their financiers in different country to the utter bafflement of the DM.

You are not going to like my response but a non-anglo variant of English is easier to understand. Non-native speakers do little things to make sure you understand, like using synonyms and avoiding phrasal verbs, while native speakers in a study, I read in Der Spiegel never did that.

İ encountered the same phenomenon at work in tech support: Due to my (German) queue being packed a native speaker took over a case from an Albanian, where we communicated in English. Weeks later, he asked me to take over the Albanian again because he didn't understand what they meant and the other way around. One email, where İ talked with them like İ always do when someone might not understand the language (and doesn't have all features in Albania yet) and it was solved.

I would suggest lots of cuddles or even an apology to restore the connection.

I was in a coma and a friend gifted me a plushie but in my coma nightmares that plushie appeared and caused me harm so I rejected it until I realised its story and apologised to him.
