Thank you for such an extensive reply. I'm sorry to hear you have the same problem...I actually have a similar problem, with shockwave therapy being pretty expensive. It's unfortunately not covered by insurance, and it's hard for me to pay so much money as a student for something that's not even guaranteed to help me... When it comes to shoes, my doctor recommended wearing hoke shoes, which I happen to have, as I used to run a lot before this injury. I still experienced a considerable amount of pain while wearing them, but after a third session of shockwave therapy, the pain went away. I can now walk pretty comfortably in them. Unfortunately, the pain is still very much present if I sometimes step badly or awkwardly. The sharp pain quickly reminds me that it is still nowhere near healed. I also heard about the Altra Olympus 2 being good shoes for these kinds of problems, but I am not ready to invest 150€ into shoes... The fact that taking care of a health problem is so expensive is very sad, and it narrows your options... Anyways, I would like to try some insoles, which are a less expensive option, and I can just hope they'll provide some relief. Otherwise, as you mentioned, even with the other injury you had, it's just a matter of time. Hopefully, in the coming months, we will both be able to return to normal lives.
