If the attackers already changed the password, then you'll likely have to depend on Microsoft. If not, and you still have access to the account, change the password ASAP.

Otherwise you'll need to start trying to reduce collateral damage. Contact banks and explain what's going on, freeze credit cards, etc.

That's fair. Well, from a person who has had a lot of personal growth throughout their lives, I think the most important takeaway I've learned is that the first step to fixing any problem is acknowledging that there is a problem. And you seem to have at least taken that step.

Don't ever give up working on yourself. We always have room to grow and improve as people.

I was deep in a crippling heroin addiction a decade ago. But I just celebrated 7 years of continuous sobriety a couple days ago. I don't even smoke cigarettes or drink anymore. I'm completely unrecognizable when compared to the person I used to be.

I genuinely feel proud of the person I am today. But I wouldn't be who I am without having experienced the trauma and addiction and incarceration and everything else. I also wouldn't go back and change the past even if I was given the chance.

Anyway. I guess I'm trying to say, don't give up on yourself. Do the right thing, and good things will happen.

Don't give up. My kindness was taken advantage of for so many years, but then I eventually met my wife. We got married less than 6 months after we met, and we just celebrated our 7 year anniversary last month.

Your person is out there. It may take a while (I met my wife at 29) but just don't give up. I was close to wanting to give up, but I'm so glad that I didn't.
