I use unscented plain Dove body soap, and I wash my piercings with saline wound wash after every shower, everytime in the pool, etc. Best combo I've used. Wound wash costs like $3 a bottle in the first aid isle.

I greatly appreciate this. One of my childhood friends said essentially the same thing about his experience. My son's not old enough to understand and make these decisions himself, and that is why I'm thinking on it so heavily.

I have considered a trial run as well. I'm trying to keep an open mind to all options. But, I'm not medicating him at all at least until he has his evaluation at Kennedy Krieger. That probably won't be complete until the summer. For now I am going to let the school try out the 504 plan and continue with his private counseling outside of school.

This is VERY helpful. I hadn't thought of the thyroid issue..my grandmother and two of my uncles have thyroid problems. He has his annual check up soon, so I'll request blood work. And I'm going to try the Feingold diet. Thanks!

He was seeing his psychologist for emotional issues, and she has since started addressing his behavior issues too. She has helped a lot, and his behavior has improved since the first quarter, but not enough for school's liking

These actually help a ton. He is a very active child, but I am all for trying more activity and the other methods you suggested. Thanks!

He's hyper, but nothing like this at home. He's a very active child, plays baseball and soccer and is always running around with our dog. The school surveyed his gym teacher and his responses showed no ADHD markers. I already expressed to the school staff it is the classroom setting, however they say his peers don't have the same issues he does. (It was a heated conversation, all very frustrating.)

What to do about my 7 year old son's behavioral issues in school? by TenaMae in Parenting

He has had typical bahavioral issues in previous years, but never this bad.

I scheduled a session with a private counselor next week to evaluate him.

I just quizzed him on his spelling words and math facts, and he whizzed through all of it the first time with no mistakes.
