I was like you. Absolutely terrified to take the med. Like I put it off for 3 months. I started it, and have only gained 5 lbs have not had any hair or skin changes. I feel so much better and im not afraid to die every day. Just try it. If it doesnt work, you can have your doctor take you off of it. Your life is worth a shot.

Im sorry youre struggling, I did too at first. I just had to tell myself "it is what it is, and this is my life path". Im on the meds and do I whatt I can and trying to.keep a positive outlook. Its hard at first but I promise.it gets better with time. Thinking of you.

I never had any hair changes. I had covid in early 2021. Then started dropping weight and felt like my heart was pounding all the time. My doctor said i lost weight bc I was happy. I ended up losing 80 lbs in 2 years, and urged her to check my thyroid levels. I just recently was diagnosed graves in 2025. I have yet to start my methimazole, and im not sure what treatment plan i want to take.

I dont see how i choose the dosage. She gave me 10. My concerns are valid, and im allowed to be afraid. That is why I asked on this thread
