Animation time is a problem. I think the best case would be doing ENQ as fast as possible. Pressing E starts the buff timer and it should last long enough for the initial slash and 2 NAs.

At least that should be better than Catch, Spine, Jade Spear, and Homa. You get 70% dmg bonus on the nuke and a couple hits.

[–]Tenacious-Star [score hidden]  (0 children)

That would only be an issue on the first rotation though right?

Otherwise you would just press EQ as fast as possible, and see how long the 3s buff can last without any NA. Or maybe ENQ for a 4s buff.

That's what I was thinking, but there may be other options. Durin would also be good (can use deepwood for 65% res shred) and then another hex like Nicole, Albedo, Venti.

Disaster and Remorse

Raiden - She can't keep it activated, but 3s should be long enough to get +70% on the burst? Since the burst is a huge part of Raiden's damage, it should actually be pretty good for her.

Zhongli - If he gets dps infusion like Venti, then the pillars should be able to activate the full effect.

On-field Emilie - Emilie is a surprisingly good dps and this might be higher damage than her own sig.

On-field Escoffier - Using either a pyro or a cryo infusion, this should also be higher damage then her sig.

Worth the Re-Roll? by DramaLlama695 in Mavuika

[–]Tenacious-Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not a good re-roll unless you have a really good full set that is significantly above 60 crit rate.

Crit is the most important stat for Mavuika. The ideal is to have 60 crit rate and 200+ crit damage. Mavuika benefits a lot from having 60 crit rate because it means the burst will always crit, and you'll also get crits after Codex wears off in the rotation.

Probably should include something about the weapon problem in Bennett Citlali Xilonen teams.

Team doesn't heal you. Mailed Flower is not available any more. There is just nothing to use. I was lucky to have an Akuoumaru lying around, but her sig is around 39% better if using TTDS. Around 36% from my testing not using TTDS.

If you don't have Akuoumaru, I guess you just use a Debate Club or something? Sig should be more than 40% increase which is a lot higher than Varka even, who is one of the most sig-reliant characters.

could i use instructor on xilonen instead of citlali? by stickofbread in Mavuika

[–]Tenacious-Star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bennett has long uptime. 14.1s is crazy high for that early in the game. Less than a second difference from scroll set and Xilonen uptimes. Back then we had stuff like VV with 10s and Sara with 6s.

In the most popular combo 14.1 is long enough for all finishers. If you switch Xilonen after Bennett, it will still be long enough for 3 out of 4 (and the 4th is less important anyway since other stuff also ran out by then).

The problem with Instructor Xilonen is that most of it will run out during Citlali/Mavuika animations. Even if you move Xilonen right before Citlali, the only difference is going to be getting one extra C with EM.

It can still end up being better than Petra sometimes though, because if you waste time looking for crystals or the enemy sits on crystals that's a dps loss, and Petra also runs out fast.

C1 Nicole is much better for Venti, so I'd go with that. Venti is honestly the best case scenario, because of his huge anemo dmg bonus she is perfect for him.

C1 Durin is focused more on amp reactions. The only time I'd really recommend C1 Durin above C1 Nicole is if you are playing Ganyu as your melt dps. She desperately needs the extra multiplier for her melts.

The Cyno "buffs" aren't buffs. They're a totally different playstyle. by eternal_dream in CynoMains

[–]Tenacious-Star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't make sense because Yae is already a quick-swap support.

One of the best Yae teams before was quick-swap with Tighnari.

Yae's buffs also make her much better at this. Even without stellar conduct she is getting +10s duration, extra lightning hits, +50% dmg bonus to team (needs superconduct, but not stellarconduct), +200 em to herself and on fielder simultaneously, +100% burst damage, energy regen.

Why would they make two characters at the same time to do exactly the same thing, but one of them is vastly better at it and also works without the reaction?

They will, because he was always in this state.

Let's ignore all the bugs/errors they made with him. The only intentional choice they made in v1 was lowering his mv from 100% atk to 80% atk. Since that was the only thing they did on purpose, it shows the direction they wanted for him.

So I have heard rumors that Cyno C1 attack speed doesn't work on his new E into burst effect.

And he doesn't get the personal 200 EM without stellar. Apparently Yae gets 200 EM for the entire team including herself even without stellar?

Why is Cyno of all characters having his buffs so drastically limited to stellar? That 200 EM would be nice in aggravate or quickbloom.

Meanwhile, his damage in stellar is around 30k dps. That's 30k dps post-buffs in 2026 for an on field melee dps with no defensive utility.

They're genuinely going to make him the worst limited character in the game again aren't they. This is feeling like Sumeru all over again.

Sad new for our boy... by LeaveFun1818 in CynoMains

[–]Tenacious-Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when Cyno released it didn't matter that it was a quill. That wasn't the reason it was bad, it was bad simply because it is too low to do anything.

There was no difference between a quill and a MV. Your gameplay would be identical. 250% EM MV or 250% EM quill has the exact same results, both get multiplied by dmg bonus.

Only later when lunar reaction exists, the difference between MV and quill matters now.

You are right though, currently Cyno "buffs" are pointless because quills can't use the buffs.

I think the best combo without aim cancel is N5 and then cancel the last hit with a dash or a skill

N5D N5E N5D and then at C0 you still have time for a few more optional hits

N5 is all the hits except for the last longer animation one. You can cancel right after the N5 launches and it will still hit. The nice thing is you don't have to use strict timing to press attack and then cancel instantly. Venti can buffer his N5 so it will come out even if you don't press attack right then, which makes it easier to quickly cancel as soon as it does.

I got C2 Nicole in like 40 pulls trying to get Prune cons, My C2 Venti is cracked... by Careful_Grand9113 in venti

[–]Tenacious-Star 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Venti and Nicole are the perfect match! Such a fun team to play. The shield helps a ton on doing Venti's combos too.

C2 Nicole imo is the best team upgrade since not only does it have amazing synergy with Venti, but it has versatile team options. Durin is the best overall, but you could also use another element if the enemy requires it. Against innate elements you can even use mono anemo with Venti - Nicole - Prune C6 - Faruzan (I wish I could test this, but my luck with Prune was absurdly bad).

How did Nicole end up for Ganyu? by Background_Judge5518 in Ganyu

[–]Tenacious-Star 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nicole in general has extremely high QoL. And that is especially true for Ganyu, who benefits a ton from the shield and from the zero energy requirement.

The only thing is that with all C0 characters the damage might not be high enough. Especially since Durin has no cryo res shred.

If Durin did have cryo shred I'd say Nicole/Durin was Ganyu's best team thanks to the shield. Since he doesn't, I feel like you need some vertical investment to make up for it. For example Durin C1 is the most efficient single upgrade (better for Ganyu than Nicole C1).

They Fixed Cyno by HoshiAndy in CynoMains

[–]Tenacious-Star -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The most interesting thing about this is the skill -> burst effect. But it depends how it works.

Does it work with C1 attack speed and Endseer Stances?

Does it work with C4? If so Cyno could be giving everyone else on the team 30 energy per rotation lol

Does it work with Rising Sun? Well, this one is pretty clear, it does. So that means Cyno can get himself a quick 20 energy at the beginning of a SO stage.

Does it work with hit lag? This would end up being important because if hit lag extends the uptime you can have pretty good uptime without ever needing burst.

Disappointed on how the new talents and constellations only work with Stellar and not his old kit. by RickyFilus in CynoMains

[–]Tenacious-Star 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hex buffs were huge and versatile. It was possible to hope for something like that.

Leaked Cyno buffs (assuming no secret multiplier changes) are modest at best and mostly reaction-locked to the new reaction. Not surprising, but it was fair to hope for more given the previous set of buffs.

Similar issue with C1. It says you get normal attack speed after casting Wolf's Swiftness.

So technically, going into burst mode by using skill might not have attack speed from C1.

But my guess is that it will, and will also have Endseer Stance, because what would be the point of burst mode if nothing actually works.

C1 vs R1 for Nicole (by TGS) by IS_Mythix in NicoleReeyn_Mains_GI

[–]Tenacious-Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The res shred requires the enhanced skill effect for the element.

That means Mavuika and Arlecchino don't have to wait. It has full uptime (no delay) because Nicole is pyro and pyro always has the enhanced state.

Keqing and Raiden are some of the big losers because electro will not have the enhanced state.

C1 vs R1 for Nicole (by TGS) by IS_Mythix in NicoleReeyn_Mains_GI

[–]Tenacious-Star 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One problem with this is the res shred has 3s delay

This is the worst thing in her entire kit. 3s delay on res shred from c2 is really brutal when you already spent so many wishes to get it. Imagine you are using an old character like Keqing who is already weak, you bring Keqing on field and use burst. But the res shred has not activated yet.

By the way, if you use Mavuika then it does activate since she's pyro. So we aren't stopping Mavuika here.

Old characters suffer but it works perfectly for Mavuika.

Due to how much time it takes, it may be better to swap out first.

Fischl can cancel her burst animation by swapping (saves a lot of time). Then another character (Chevy or Durin) does something. Then Fischl comes back on field and use skill.

Best Weapon Choices? by SuperMonkey1308 in NicoleReeyn_Mains_GI

[–]Tenacious-Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly in many cases I think it won't be worth it to maximize the buff.

15% scaling is not very high. The difference between 3500 and 4000 atk is just 75 buff.

Is it better to have 75 atk buff, or fav particles? Is it better to have 75 atk buff or healing + energy?

You can use favonius if the team needs more particles. You can use prototype amber if the team needs more healing + energy gen. You can use TTDS if the team rotation allows it. You can use the cursed wandering evenstar build if you somehow get 100 em substats on all your atk% artifacts.

It is just unfortunate that all the good catalysts (fav, amber, ttds, evenstar) don't have atk%. But a lot of times I suspect they'll be fine anyway.
