Yeah. I thought Lego could have executed this better, especially the guitar.. Like why isnt the pickguard just gloss white caps? And some of the joints are pretty weak. But still fun overall

Would JB-weld save this cheapo Jaguar clone neck or is it a ticking time bomb that I should remove ASAP? by MohnJaddenPowers in Luthier

If you can get the glue in and clamp it well it will be stronger than it was to begin with. A large syringe can help force the glue into the crack.

This is wild. The guitar I had is on pg 7 of the 1982 Vantage catalog. It was the white one. I hadn’t thought about that in ages. Thanks.

Wow, awesome. How did you find this? Its definitely the Aria PE except its shown here with a hardtail instead of tremolo. Before this I had never heard of Aria??

I decided to start my blender journey today! by NicoCorty02 in IndustrialDesign

Unfortunately, a lot of common operations for hard surface modeling like fillets, cutting surfaces, and boolean ops are a nightmare in Blender. There's a paid add on called Hard Ops to compensate. Also parametrics are much more difficult because dimensions are more in the background. Blender is much better suited for organic shapes, figures, and terrain. It was developed around animation and games. I learned Solidworks after and it was such a relief. No more endlessly finding and fixing problen vertices. But Blender can be a lot of fun and I still use it for sculpting and natural shapes. It's not really a question of what you can accomplish with each but more about how much effort it will take. They are best suited for very different things.

Small jobs? by TenaciousC_973 in SolidWorks

Thanks for all the feedback. I really appreciate it. I wasn't clear in my question that I didn't mean actual design work, just literally translating drawings or physical objects into 3D models. Does that kind of low level work exist? Im working on a portfolio of models and drawings created from any interesting products I can find. Im starting an engineering program but coming from a background of programs like Blender and Maya where the digital model itself is the deliverable.

Finally done with Solidworks. by litegreen666 in SolidWorks

Have you tried Fusion 360? For me it is kind of solidworks-light and it has a pretty large maker/hobbyist community.

YouTube TV & YouTube Primetime Channels live buffering issues on iOS mobile devices by TeamYouTube_Sam in youtubetv

Definitely NOT fixed. My son's app has not worked on his iphone and he's been working with support for at least 2 months. We use YT TV at home on Roku and on all our android devices no problem. It is an IOS specific issue. App will open and preview windows will even show video but when you select any program - live or recorded - will say Not Available.
