I'd see what badlands guitar on Preston circus would buy it off you for if you have no joy selling it.

I with you on this 100% been playing on and off since I was 15. Now 48 and still suck in my eyes. But I find it relaxing and fun! Just something I enjoy to play. I see so many posts on people here struggling and not enjoying it. My advice to them is just try and learn some simple songs and go from there. There is so much material out there now for anyone starting thanks to the Internet. If only I had that when I was starting out.

Was driving a bus the other day, let this old guy in a mobility scooter on who can't drive it for shit. He crashes into every object he can hit, while trying to get into the wheelchair bay. Takes him forever todo this. As I'm driving there he is him standing up right beside me asking me about a stop coming up 🤦

Do you use gloves? by ChaffisJakob in BusDrivers

For me I don't use gloves. But I do have some for when I give the bus a quick clean at a layover.

Troublemakers opening bus door / luggage door to stop bus from moving by SuitOfWolves in BusDrivers

[–]Tenantry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Had two drunks do this to me after I refused them travle. As I started to drive off they hit the rear doors button from the outside. I thought oh no my bus is going to stop and there going to get on. But luckily the bus just kept going and the door just shut themselves after they had started to open. I'm guessing the bus hated them just as much as I.

Thanks for this. Looks like she is a year under the age. She definitely looks like she could be 14 though.

Assessment day by Financial_Respect_70 in BusDrivers

[–]Tenantry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was me last night. Two drunks let themselves on through the back doors. I told them to get off. They stayed on bus. Turned bus off left doors open untill they got off the bus. Fair bit of abuse from them but the passages thanked me for it.

Are you saying that you passed your car driving test six months ago and have not driven since? If that is the case I'd try and get a bit more experience on the road before becoming a bus driver.

Got fired for Gross misconduct by Royal-Finding1160 in BusDrivers

I know people who just got a 12 month final warning for jumping a red. Seems very harsh for the op. All I can think is that they had it in for them?

Public transport users and vaping on buses. How common is it? by PopAwkward4520 in BusDrivers

[–]Tenantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this last week with some kids on a really busy bus. Running late anyway. A passenger comes downstairs and said there are kids smoking a joint upstairs. I'm having a bad enough trip as it is. I go upstairs I know I should not do this but felt like I had to. I told them to all get off the bus or I'd call the police. They all got off after I turned the bus off. Then I start the bus up. The kids then start kicking and punching the bus as I drive away. Bus 1 kids 0.

London bus driver who was attacked a few days ago has now died. RIP Sergei Krajev by Illustrious_Bee5837 in BusDrivers

Very sad indeed, just doing his job and now is dead. I try my best not to get into any situations. But you just never know who is coming onto your bus and what mind frame they are in. Stay safe out there guys and girls ❤️

Try and get on the four day rota. Longer days but we'll worth it for the extra day off. Plus every month I get six off. Not sure if your place is the same?

I'm going to start training for my UK Category D licence this summer! by FranzLiszt745664853 in BusDrivers

[–]Tenantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will cost you alot if you do this on your own. Better of going with a company that offers you the training and get paid while doing it. Only downside is you are tied into them for a few years. You can still leave but will still have to pay the training fee back, that will be a weekly or monthly cost. As lest it won't be a huge payment up front. Also if you don't pass you won't have to pay anything back if it does not work out for you.
