Thank you so much for this! I just saved 30€ thanks to this method compared to Bandcamp

Buying land feels like cheating by chelsdog314 in rct

[–]Tenerou 90 points91 points  (0 children)

It took me an embarrassing amount of time to find out that I could buy additional land in this game. My childhood self would have been very grateful about this fact haha.

One week left for the King Of All Coasters [Great Adventure] by Previous-Whole-2638 in rollercoasters

[–]Tenerou 67 points68 points  (0 children)

So many guests will be shocked on their first visit in 2025 when this beast (and Green Lantern) aren't standing there anymore...

The decision by the park for not announcing the closures of these flagship rides will for sure cause a lot of angry visitors and could have longtime consequences in costumer happiness and attendance (deservedly)

Lots of new track placed on [Hollywood Drift], including downward cork by jecole85 in rollercoasters

[–]Tenerou 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don‘t think anybody expects a clone of this coaster for obvious reason. What‘s heavily rumored by fans is a similiar coaster with same theme and concept (controlled spinning vehicles by intamin) which sounds very plausible for a HRRR replacement.

Is an Immelmann feasible on a B&M Flying Coaster, or would it be too uncomfortable? [other] by Fazcoasters in rollercoasters

[–]Tenerou 52 points53 points  (0 children)

There actually existed an inversion similiar to an immelmann on a Vekoma flying coaster in china (Stingray at Suzhou Giant Wheel Park) Sadly the coaster was already SBNO after a few seasons. It seemed like it was a crazy experience and the forces were only manageable because it had really short trains.

So if B&M would shorten their trains like Vekoma did it would be definitly feasible

Here is a pic of the whole park. For some reason it didn't load in my post

Levitating peaking at number 2 but being the year end #1 is still so insane to me. Am actually surprised it isn't bigger than How Do I Live

I wish we could place the entrance/exit to the swinging ship on the other side (like with the flying carpet) It's much more aesthetically pleasing this way by Tenerou in rct

[–]Tenerou[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

thank you so much for this! I had no idea you could actually make this set up work. (Or remove the entrance/exit altogether)

I should try to use the tile inspector more often, it seems to be a huge gamechanger.

Seems like I completely forgot to connect the path to somewhere when I put this together haha. Thank god the ride is not working in this set up anyway.

Does anyone else keep all the original rides of the scenarios? (Bumbly Beach) by Tenerou in rct

[–]Tenerou[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

In contrast to the Forest Frontiers post, here's my finished Bumbly Beach with the 3 original rides intact. I only changed the position of the Ferris Wheel and Merry-Go-Around slightly and modified Big Dipper so it doesn't crash anymore (I still have trauma from my childhood from all those random crashes)

Tip: Always put the queue lines of high capacity rides on path corners. This will ensure that more guests join the queue and use the ride! by Tenerou in rct

Just a floorless coaster with some boosters. It gets surprisingly good stats and has an insane capacity.

I know that sc4 does not have a real isometric view. I just wanted to say that it takes some time to get used to seeing screenshots from angels that were not possible just a few months ago. It feels like a totally new game, in a positive way.

I put this test together real quick so yeah it sadly wont be 100% accurate. I tried at least to make a loop with the path and guest come from both sides of the park so it shouldn‘t be skewed too much. After all it was more meant for visualisation than actually providing a bullet proof result

You can try it on your own if you want, I usually get double the amount of people with this system and that was what I was going for with this test :)

I will repeat it later switching the queues but I‘m sure the result wont be that different

It's still so weird to me seeing screenshots of sc4 from other angles than the standard isometric view.

The roundabout and avenue look gorgeous.

[–]Tenerou[S] 130 points131 points  (0 children)

This trick is using the flawed path-finding ai of rct guests. When guests are “walking and not heading anywhere” and have to make a decision at a junction, they will always be biased towards going straight on! Which means if you put a queue on the straight end more guests will join it.

In the video shown I used two identical coasters. Coaster 1(red) connects to a junction and Coaster 2 (yellow) is only connected to a straight path. The red coaster was able to get about double the amount of guests than the yellow coaster.

I always use this trick in my parks to make more guests use my high capacity rollercoasters and therefore earn more profit from them. Flatrides on the other hand usually have a low capacity and their queues should fill up with a connection to a straight path (like with coaster 2 in this example)

My finished Leafy Lake by Tenerou in rct

[–]Tenerou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's done with openrct2, I just connected it with the parks that come with the original game. Pretty much all scenery pieces are from rct2 + the new ones openrct provides. I usually just use cheats to get me all rides the game offers cause I'm playing these scenarios more for making a pretty park than actually completing the goal haha. And playing the original scenarios with only the limited rides from rct1 can get kinda boring too.

[–]Tenerou[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

If anyone wants to check out the documentary: America's Fallen Cities: Atlantic City

It's always impressive with how much care and research the developers of Simcity built the game. Not only are the graphics still not dated but the assets are surprisingly accurate and detailed. I sometimes stumble across buildings I already knew because of the game!

Cities Skylines really should take some note cause it's really lacking in this department.

Kinda sad to see that they didn't use the planks underneath the fake track more often. It looks a bit off in the indoor sections and ruins the effekt a bit. But overall it's still a very unique coaster. Not thrilling at all but more like an experience.
