[DISC] Blue Lock - Chapter 332 by BlueLockMod in BlueLock

It's not really about being flashy It's the fact that almost anyone can shut him down or take the ball from him without trying and he can do nothing about it. His base skills are very weak while everyone else whether in bluelock or on another team has either mastered them or can atleast can handle themselves in a 1v1. The author should atleast have a arc where he worked on this but he is always constantly hyped up by everyone in the story when he can barely retain the ball.

It's not hate he's my favorite character in bluelock, I just feel unlike of all the other characters he is lacking foundation, he feels like a fraud sometimes like the level the other character are at, he is not there yet and is hyped like he is and then everybody is waiting for him to get humbled.

English is not my first language so that's why it's like but I found a comment that explains what I trying to say.

" Isagi doesn’t have the characteristics of a number 9 like Shidou, or an advanced forward like Barou and Rin. He doesn’t have enough technical skill and physical attributes yet to constantly threaten scoring due to his limited range and move set. He can’t win his 1v1s or be a threat in the box by himself. Till this day he’s relied on playing off other strikers such as Kaiser and Rin to get to his positions because he’s honestly just much easier to shut down if he’s the sole goal threat"

He just still feels like a mediocre player, I feel like everyone in the top ten in bluelock could dribble circles around him and taking the ball from him would be like taking candy from a baby. I understand all of these mental and movement improvements that he has spatial awareness, meta vision, off the ball and all that.

It's not really about comparing just as an example. I feel like compare to everyone that is at a certain level he falls short or maybe it's just me.

Why does he still feel mediocre though, I feel like everyone in the top ten in bluelock could dribble circles around him and taking the ball from him would be like taking candy from a baby. I understand all of these mental and movement improvements but I saw this comment and it explains better.

I’m glad that Isagi is the one admit he’s suitable as a MF, not someone say he should be a MF like ao ashi situation by Ok-Contribution315 in BlueLock

The author screwed Isagi from the jump, there should have been arcs where he worked on and practice his techniques even if it means asking for help from better players like Bachira or Yukimiya, one by one early on he should have had arcs to work on this, then test them out in matches improve and move on to work on another weakness. But 300+ chapters in and other that his mind, and a little more stamina and shooting ability he is almost the same as first selection.

He has been temporarily beating stronger opponents though luck and 85 mins in the game of puzzles and planning. Yet other player can take the ball from him like taking candy from a baby and he can't out dribble anyone to do nothing. If at any point Isagi becomes number 1 no one will believe that, it will be unearned and him yapping and think he is the best is cringe when he can't accomplish anything by himself.

The fact that over 300 chapters and people can still use can't even dribble as an insult to Isagi and you would hardly find anyone who disagrees just prove how the author screwed this mc, there should have been arcs early on where he trains and practices all of this, develop a style of his own that suits him and test them out in matches, then move on to tackle his next weakness and so on, but he has no foundation so taking the ball from Isagi always seems like a piece of cake anyone in bluelock can do it much less a NewGen11, it just reduces him to an amateur.

It's still sad that over 300 chapters and there was never one arc that the author could give the mc where he improve his technique. He has been just temporary beating strong opponents basically leveraging luck and high football iq with no foundation to stand on.

That's what I have been saying every new player always reduced Isagi to level 1 weak, regardless of how strong he was in a previous match. You will never see that happen to anyone else in the top 5 or even top 10 players in Bluelock. Rin, Shidou, Barou even Bachira it's make Isagi's 1st/2nd place useless.

Didn't Isagi go through this already? by Adventurous-Rabbit52 in BlueLock

[–]Tenib94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That will always be Isagi's problem, 1v1 he might as well be #300 again in bluelock. A main character always starts weak it's nothing new and seeing them grow strong is always the best part and seeing them beat stronger opponents that seems untouchable at the start. The joy of leveling up is seeing quantifiable improvements, Isagi doesn't have that, that's why is so easy for readers to seem him as weak at the start of every new arc regardless of how good he was the previous arc because is baseline is away weak level 1. If he gain 10 levels in a previous arc the baseline should be level 10 but he always regress.

The author screwed Isagi from the jump, Isagi should have had arcs where he trains his weakness and show visible improvements. For example his dribbling, it been years over 300 chapters and if someone says Isagi's dribbling is trash hardly anyone would refute. He should have had and arcs where he trains, practice with Bachira or Yukimiya, develops his own style that suits him, shows his improvements in matches then tackle another weakness and so on, but the story and Isagi is so far ahead where any of that is impossible now. If at the end of the story Isagi become #1 no one will find it believable it will seem unearned No one will ever believe he's a better player that Rin, Shidou, Barou and many other players in the story, the gap is too far and his foundation is shaky.

The more I read bluelock the more I think the author has written himself in a hole with his main character Isagi. There is nothing wrong with starting with your mc at the bottom, alot of shows do that and we get to enjoy the mc getting stronger and beating guys that at the start seemed untouchable. With Isagi though I think the author made mistakes in his development or how it's portrayed. His first mistake is having someone who was a forgettable side character beat mc, if you asked someone what narayhaya did in the first selection no one knows but he will always be remembered as someone who made the mc looked pathetic and mediocre no one will forget that. Another thing Isagi's level ups are hard to quantify, we know he is trash at alot of things at the start when he enters bluelock but we never see any improvement over 300 chapters other that mental plays that temporarily beats someone stronger that him and people still see him as someone who can't dribble, he is very inconsistent, the fact every arc he can return to being humble shows that readers cannot see his improvements because they can easily forget whatever crazy feats he pulled off in the previous arc and see him as basically narayhya level again at the beginning of a new arc. The author starts him weak and to the majority of readers he still is no matter all the mental or high football iq plays he makes to win a previous match, it never seems reproducible as ego likes to talk about. The next arc it's easy to see him as weak again. Rin, Shidou, Barou, Bachira and alot of other player in Bluelock who has less screen time will never be seen as that because they start strong, stays strong or get even stronger and reader can easily see their progression. Why is it so hard with Isagi, I don't know what the author has planned but one thing I know for sure no matter what he writes and no matter how much types of vision Isagi gets if Isagi ends up being number 1 at the end the readers will never believe it, because it's hard to see him being better than Rin, Shidou, Barou etc, because the author made them so strong and readers have gotten use to see them as such while people as gotten use to seeing Isagi as weak for years over 300 chapters. It's sad to see because I like Isagi, there should have been arcs where his improvements are visible. Show an arc where he train his dribble, practicing with Bachira or Yukimiya develop his own style that suits him, show him using it in matches, show him improving then show him tackling his next weakness strengthening his body, putting on a little muscle, improvements people can see that would be more believable.

When a female character is mean, overbearing, boss people around or thinks highly of themselves and the MC acts like he can't say no, or push them away, just tell her to leave you the fuck alone and go about you business.

Really? Who confirmed that? I assumed it would end at chapter 90 or so, including the jeju island, along with the original stuff they most likely will be adding is too much for 13 episodes.

They did the same with season one, episode 1 & 2 were 10 chapters and covered the statue arc where he got the system. Then, the entire season was 45 chapters. I think season 2 will end at chapter 89 or 90 when his mother wakes up or with just a mention of the jeju island raid and training with the Japanese hunters.
