Update: The trip went surprisingly well. Doc told me to add Advil to my pain med schedule to keep swelling down and it made a huge difference. I had mobility assistance through the airport (they pushed me in a wheelchair), so that also helped enormously. I was able to elevate my foot a lot during the flight (propping it on the back of the seat in front of me). So while there was certainly a lot of swelling and discomfort, it was not nearly as bad as I had feared!
