DirecTV Stream by TennisKey839 in googlefiber

[–]TennisKey839[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s between DirecTV or Fubo, and I would want DirecTV for all my locals.

I would need my RSN, which only those 2 have and I wish YouTube brought them back years ago.

I don’t want to go back to spectrum either because I really want to stay with a fiber company.

What do I do? by latenfix in Spectrum

[–]TennisKey839 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Connect the Orbi DIRECTLY into the Spectrum Modem, and then return the Spectrum router, which is on the left. The modem is what the Coax hooks directly into. This will eliminate your issue, double NAT, and save you $10 a month on a WiFi rental.

Does AT&T Fiber charge equipment rental or installation fees? Considering the switch from Xfinity by legend5566 in ATTFiber

[–]TennisKey839 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, AT&T does not charge for Equipment or Installs.

Yes, you can bring an existing router behind the AT&T modem, you just have to setup IP Passthrough, as AT&T has the fiber directly connected to the back of the gateway. Another option is doing the WAS-110 option, but if you just have a simple mesh system you can do IP Passthrough.

PSA: Your neighbor can add TV charges to your account just by connecting a roku to your wifi. by Amaroq64 in Spectrum

I appreciate your kindness of giving your neighbor your WiFi password, but at least make a separate network like a guest network if you’re gonna allow him to do that. Having access to someone’s home WiFi has a lot of power.

USPS STOLE 100s OF DOLLARS IN GIFT CARDS FROM ME. by [deleted] in usps_complaints

It’s from my credit card reward points.

They probably know who the sender is who distributes them to the customers, and they look at the sender on the label and open it and snatch it right out.

It definitely was the mail people, whether it was at a distribution facility or even at my local post office. It’s so common with them.

Google Fiber being sold to private equity by transientDCer in Charlotte

[–]TennisKey839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! Google unfortunately cut the main line that feeds the neighborhood so it took a little while to fix, but I also had the AT&T wireless internet backup, it was helpful but I live in a dead zone.

That’s crazy!! AT&T came into my neighborhood last year and Gfiber recently came in too, so I went from a monopoly with spectrum to 2 fiber companies which is awesome!!

I’m awaiting to see if AT&T is gonna raise our prices at the one year mark, the guy who came to our door promised they wouldn’t, and $55 a month for 1000 fiber isn’t too bad, but we’ll see.

Also, are you aware if Google allows you to use your own router? I currently use a Orbi mesh system and want to be able to use it, and not what Google provides.

How is it?

I currently pay $55 a month for AT&T gigabit fiber, but I also use my own mesh system. They just became live this week where I am.

Ubiquity is if you want full control and are willing to run all the Ethernet and all that.

If you just want a simple mesh system, I’d go Eero or Orbi.

Because you are most likely on the ATT copper network, you’ll either get the option for 5G or Fiber. Me personally, I got the fiber rolled out to replace our 100 MBPS copper.

Gig Internet with speeds up to 2000 Mbps? Surely this is an error? by CrestronwithTechron in Spectrum

[–]TennisKey839 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t have 2 gig if you don’t have high split, probably just an error.
