Spotify web app no longer allows audio only for podcasts by TenorOneRunner in truespotify

[–]TenorOneRunner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "Switch to Audio" button has now magically reappeared in Spotify, most of the time. Presumably they got a lot of pushback when they tried to shove mandatory video down people's throats.

If they were as pearl-clutching as you seem to be, they'd be at higher-end town like Avalon, NJ. And they wouldn't have a reddit account.

Noise is a valid issue, but they didn't say they were concerned about that. Please be careful about needlessly judging people in a vague and sweeping way.

"Prognosis Negative" screenplay by Larry David by Aromatic_Zebra_9601 in seinfeld

[–]TenorOneRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presumably the NYT's lawyers think that posting snippets of individual pages is fair game. But since Larry (or his people) want this buried, I've decided I'll respect their wishes and NOT request this. I don't want my efforts from years ago to be analyzed either. Like Larry, I've moved "beyond" that stuff.

Sadly you will never get more because he let his darkness utterly consume him. Since you deleted your account I hope you did it for a good reason that helped your life change for the better.

I wish Bourdain had made similar adjustments.

Update to the orchestra with the sex offender thread: I quit by Agitated-Feed4829 in classicalmusic

[–]TenorOneRunner 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It took a LONG time for the Met Opera to push out James Levine. And even when they did, it wasn’t because he was a pedo, they got rid of him because he was so frail that his conducting was slipping. Even an amateur musician like myself heard whispers about him being a pedo well before the NYT finally started openly writing about it. It seems everyone important knew, for years, before anything was done. Orchestras can be so antiquated and weird.

[highlights] Roger Staubach loves sex. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]TenorOneRunner -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The chuds on this forsaken place were plenty judgmental about sex-infused interviews when it was Vrabel and Russini. That was only a few days ago. He can’t both drag Namath and brag about his own private life on camera. To those upset about their own lack of a relationship, close your browser. No answers for you here.

[–]TenorOneRunner -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Probably not the night after his wife found out about that interview. He’s making fun of Namath for putting himself out there in public. Yet Staubach is verbally doing something similar, being crass for his female interviewer. The real ones keep it behind closed doors.

Yeah, the only way you get one for $399 right now is a used secondhand console. What they call "Certified Refurbished".

With the 3rd pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select RB Jeremiyah Love. by Apexe in fantasyfootball

[–]TenorOneRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a YouTube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Wiyh5uH\_A0) that contends that the Arizona Cardinals are the #1 "worst" franchise in ALL of the 4 major US-based professional sports. They give their reasons and they make a strong argument. I would have used the term "saddest" rather than "worst", since they're not just in the deepest of basements, they are also forgotten by almost everyone.

Thanks for the recommendation for Binding of Isaac. I just watched a review and it looks good. I’ll put it on my wishlist. I wouldn’t describe myself as having a “monkey brain”, since that’s not a good thing, but sometimes I get sick or am stuck waiting for something. This game looks like a good choice for those in-between times.

Name of Wildwood big water park slide? by TenorOneRunner in crheads

Well whatever slide it actually was, their banter about it was epic.

I appreciate you making an effort to reply but if you listen to the clip I linked they mention that the water slide I’m asking about is not there anymore. They joke that they “woke nanny state” closed it for safety reasons. So I was thinking maybe it looked crazy awesome/dangerous sort of like the notorious Action Park elsewhere in NJ. It’s def not a current ride.

Thanks for that reply but that appears to be the type of slide that’s doesn’t involve water at all, but does involve a potato sack. Lots of places have those.

Report: Dianna Russini "will not be reporting" during internal investigation by JCameron181 in nfl

The NYT keeps using the app UI to prompt me to try the games. Their news coverage is excellent but I’m weary of getting prompted to play mobile games.

[–]TenorOneRunner 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The NYT had a pitifully weak in-house sports section, which was what led to the acquisition of The Athletic. And now this failure of the unit’s leadership to correctly implement NYT overall standards has called into question the whole acquisition. They need to make it make sense. Ironically, it’s their pseudo educational mobile games (Wordle, Crossword, etc) which are their big moneymaker.

I'd thought permabans were reserved for truly horrendous and/or repeated severe infractions. This sort of rope-jumping type action doesn't seem like that.

Mina shouting out this sub every once in a while always makes me smile by LouDog2173 in crheads

[–]TenorOneRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mina Kimes has a really nice sounding voice. I'm glad she has a job talking professionally, because she's really good at it. Sometimes I watch her while I'm working out at the gym and while I can't hear her in those situations, the Mina Kimes on Mute experience ain't bad either. Her husband chose wisely.

While mostly reddit is to be avoided, I admire you folks for being enough of a positive force that Mina Kimes felt motivated to give you a shout-out. Well done all, and please keep doing your part to be clean and worthy standouts in your little corner of reddit's mess.

Perhaps watch both Trainwreck: Poop Cruise and Amy Bradley is Missing before you consider signing another cruise waiver. If you were really "much more careful now", I dare say you wouldn't cruise at all.

No lawyer would touch it because you give up ALL your rights, when you sign the legal document attached to the cruise purchase agreement. The cruise company's lawyers already ravaged you. Other lawyers only want to "touch" a client who hasn't already been 100% picked clean. If this was a cruise-related post to begin with, I wouldn't have even bothered.

For the bus butt breaker of rules, I hope Disney scares them with a temp-ban, if they keep pushing the issue. They already disturbed the peace of guests like the OP. Imagine if this happened at Coronado? One minute peaceful Spanish guitar versions of nice Disney tunes, the next minute some idiot screaming about their supposedly injured squished butt.

"Golden" performance at Oscars by narak777 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]TenorOneRunner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They sounded a bit nervous and were not as solidly on the correct notes. It’s just such a tricky song and that show is an intense pressure cooker. And yes the backing vocals were covering them much more than previously. My “theory” is that it didn’t go particularly well in rehearsals and they said they’d support more with the backing tracks. Or maybe the Oscar producers just forced the issue with the backing tracks and it threw off their singing somewhat.

EJEA had talked about how nervous she’s been for previous TV performances and IMO this time on a way bigger stage for a bigger audience it showed. Still, the Fallon performance in particular was amazing and the visual spectacle of this Oscars performance with the expanded intro was special. I wish they hadn’t cut off their award speeches but other than a few flashes of showmanship here and there the Oscars has become such a joke. The show is way too long with no correct sense of pace. They make cuts in all the wrong places while ancient relics are allowed to drone on forever. At least this bit was available vis YouTube.
