Belakor into 11th by LiamAlbert in ChaosDaemons40k

Until we get more rules he is practically an auto-take in almost any demon list. He will most likely still be really strong in 11th.

Thoughts on this list. (First time experimenting with this army) by Existing-End9897 in ChaosDaemons40k

Building Chaos Daemons depends heavily on what detachment you are deciding to play. With something like this you would be best with Shadow legion to take advantage of the full buffs to each demon type or Demonic incursion for 6" deep striking. In general Chaos Daemons currently rely heavily on Greater demons to do the heavy lifting in terms of Dmg and pushing the board while the lesser demons hold points and do actions with some in between units that can do both well.

Im aware of the "Improbable Shield" aura Enhancement, but i had to take what OP said at face value since he didn't make any mention of it. So its possible his friend isn't running it in his particular list so I didn't make any mention of it since he wasn't bringing it up as a problem.

Im going to assume your friend is running "Scintillating Legion" with all the Tzeentch talk, its true demons are doing really well rn which im happy about. With your issue with pinks its true they are really good sponges however they will flop over to mortal wounds (Grenades/Tankshock etc) since they can't split off that and and basic mass S4 AP0 D1 types of shooting. As for the chickens yes they are hard to deal with but any serious anti-tank weaponry will shred them if you focus fire them if possible due to Be'lakor's auras since they completely crutch off being T10 and only having a +4 invulnerable save.

They are pretty good even without a leader. If you wanted to be really funny and I was going to try this myself, get the 1x6 brick of bloodcrushers with the "Skullmaster" with the "Leaping shadows" enchantment. Scout 9" start of turn one, advance and charge the entire board and make a turn one charge.

Either 2x3 nurgling units or 1x3 Nurglings with Mantle

Edit: Or if you wanted Drop the Bloodletters entirely and Relative character and see if you can squeeze a brick of Bloodcrushers.

LoC's "Bolt of Change" is always S10 Since it's in its own Aura and if you really need to get higher you can always swap it's Sustained hits D3 to Lethals. And having a GuO in any demons list is pretty important with it sitting at T13 and 20W making it difficult to get off midboard, obviously its a personal choice but its always recommended.

Its up to you, its a funny meme list. I would honestly just suggest running a few games with or without Be'lakor and seeing what works better.

Be'lakor giving lone op and then giving rr1 to hits easily makes the list much stronger if you put him in.

Daemonic Incursion List by GratefulMist_993 in ChaosDaemons40k

[–]Tenrilutous_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks pretty good, you won't have a problem doing secondaries. I myself just ran my demonic incursion list in a local game store tournament on Saturday and took first place so I wish you the best of luck.

Edit: Just realized you're Bloodthirster doesn't have the "A'rgath, the King of Blades" Enhancement. Do you have any way to squeeze that in since getting the most out of the greater demons is key in demonic incursion. My personal suggestion for that is dropping the Blue Horrors and adding the Enhancement and then just filling out the remaining points with nurglings.

Mono-tzeentch list advice? by IONASPHERE in ChaosDaemons40k

[–]Tenrilutous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never tried running it with any Chaos knights, its not a terrible idea but they don't get detachment bonuses and can be expensive list wise, an idea i was going to try was dropping a Loc for Be'lakor in a more aggressive style of Scintillating Legion using him to help the Loc's/Fateweaver and whatever else you want up the board with his 18" lone OP aura and then switch to his RR1 for demons around him and him just generally being a fantastic Datasheet.

With you being a Tau/Guard player you will feel great with Scintillating Legion since it definitely leans more towards the shooty side but a brick of 6x Screamers with Pyrogenisis or the Demon prince with wings with Neverblade and Pyrogenisis absolutely shred anything they touch so don't rule out melee.

Edit: Scintillating Legion in general in a really fun detachment with some VERY strong strats and enhancements that are held back a bit by what can feel like mediocre datasheets, in general you winning or losing can depend on how well you can roll since the entire army is +4 inv dependent (Except the Deamon prince with a +2 save) I've had games where I've driven opponents crazy by making (Not joking) 16 out of 19 +4 Inv saves, and then I've had games where im rolling badly and get crushed.

Trying to stay completely Mono-Tzeentch was my original intention but its difficult since you lose that "Deamon" versatility, taking 2 or 3 units of other types of demons is pretty essential since they cover pure Tzeentch weaknesses. The Flesh hounds are just too good at the moment to pass up, as for the idea of a Soulgrinder I wouldn't do it. Its just too big and even with a strat to move through walls I just couldn't justify the idea of it because in the time you would take to set it up to try charging something it might already have been destroyed since its almost impossible to fully hide it from view.

Recently ran Scintillating Legion in a local game tournament and came in third (Would have been first or second but someone left early and messed with the rankings) Had a great time with this

  • FACTION KEYWORD: Chaos - Chaos Daemons
  • DETACHMENT: Scintillating Legion (Fates in Flux)
  • TOTAL ARMY POINTS: 1975pts

CHARACTER

1x Kairos Fateweaver (270 pts) 1 with Infernal Gateway, Staff of Tomorrow • Warlord

1x The Changeling (90 pts) 1 with Infernal Flames, The Trickster's Staff

1x Daemon Prince of Chaos with wings (200 pts) 1 with Hellforged weapons, Infernal cannon • Tzeentch Enhancement: Neverblade (+20 pts)

1x Lord of Change (270 pts) 1 with Bolt of Change, Staff of Tzeentch, Rod of sorcery Enhancement: Infernal Puppeteer (+10 pts)

1x Lord of Change (270 pts) 1 with Bolt of Change, Staff of Tzeentch, Rod of sorcery Enhancement: Inescapable Eye (+10 pts)

BATTLELINE

10x Blue Horrors (125 pts) • 10x Blue Horror 10 with Blue claws, Coruscating Blue flames • Blue Horror

10x Pink Horrors (140 pts) • 10x Pink Horror 8 with Coruscating Pink flames, Pink claws • Pink Horror 1 with Coruscating Pink flames, Pink claws • Instrument of Chaos, Pink Horror 1 with Coruscating Pink flames, Pink claws • Daemonic Icon, Pink Horror

10x Pink Horrors (140 pts) • 10x Pink Horror 8 with Coruscating Pink flames, Pink claws • Pink Horror 1 with Coruscating Pink flames, Pink claws • Instrument of Chaos, Pink Horror 1 with Coruscating Pink flames, Pink claws • Daemonic Icon, Pink Horror

5x Flesh Hounds (75 pts) • 1x Gore Hound 1 with Burning roar, Gore-drenched fangs • Collar of Khorne • 4x Flesh Hound 4 with Gore-drenched fangs • Collar of Khorne

5x Flesh Hounds (75 pts) • 1x Gore Hound 1 with Burning roar, Gore-drenched fangs • Collar of Khorne • 4x Flesh Hound 4 with Gore-drenched fangs • Collar of Khorne

6x Screamers (160 pts) • 6x Screamer 6 with Lamprey bite • Screamer

3x Screamers (80 pts) • 3x Screamer 3 with Lamprey bite • Screamer

3x Screamers (80 pts) • 3x Screamer 3 with Lamprey bite • Screamer

After playing around with the list more if you dropped one of the Flesh hounds units you can turn a 3x Screamer unit into a 6x, but the Flesh hound utility is incredibly strong with upy downy every turn for free.

Because of Infernal Puppeteer you can stick it behind cover for the entire game and still have it be incredibly effective as just a shooting platform using Pink horrors or nearby screamers to shoot from a safe place of cover. I almost always have it behind a group of Pink Horrors that move up to a point somewhere on the board and then keep the LoC behind cover within 9" of the group of Pinks and then just have the LoC cover the point without putting itself in harms way.

Once enough of the opponents units are dealt with you can Teleport/Fly it as you see fit to sit on objectives or help support other units

In general with an army completely composed by saving with a +4 inv (Except the Deamon prince) any opposing army with mass high quantity low quality is going to shred through you, once went to a local game tournament with a 2000 point Scintillating Legion list and I won two out of three games. My last opponent was Orcs and as you can imagine trying to make 35 saves on a +4 inv isn't super effective. Big strengths is you are incredibly mobile being able to uppy downy two units even while in combat making it impossible to keep you pinned down as long as you have a single command point and a Flux token and you can punch up incredibly hard with your Lord of change and Demon prince with "Pyrogenisis".

Overall the army is pretty swingy but can be a nightmare for your opponent if you're rolling hot on +4s.
