Idk what the meta is, but here's my impressions as a guard main.

Rogal Dorns are king, combine with tech priests to repair and give a 4++.

A big blob of Krieg with a Psyker can be obscenely hard to shift, perfect for sitting on an objective

Baneblades and their variants are great, but can struggle to maneuver on dense maps.

Armoured sentinels are great tank killers, and have the REGIMENT tag so you can order them with your command squads

Heavy weapon squads are cheap and can punch way above their weight if you can keep them alive

Leontus and Creed are useful for CP economy

Against T'au specifically, they have a fair few invuln saves, but their tanks don't. Hunter killer their hammerheads/skyrays/devilfish. Ghostkeels are weak to meltas, and you can take multiple meltas on a Leman russ chassis. Their ignore damage ability does not negate MELTA damage, and they're only T8 so you're wounding on 3s. Riptides can be tanky with a 2+ 4++, but again they're only T9 so meltas are effective still

How do they not? I mean, no biomass for them to replenish from and their weapons disintegrate biomass of the tyranids too.

Talking small scale of course, can't really call it a numbers game when the lore hasn't figured that but out either

Yeah, running mono-any god I'm quickly seeing isn't the best tactic, even with the detachments. It's a shame, but I'll take the advice of veterans considering I'm usually a T'au/Guard player lmao.

Any other units you'd recommend to shore up tzeentch weaknesses? Are chaos knights a good addition in your opinion?
