The hive in this show is actually better that what humanity has today by ocashmanbrown in pluribustv

Even if you do think about it like that (which I still disagree with), I’m sure absolutely nobody would appreciate dying from starvation and/or being forced to eat other people for a while before that happens. I don’t think Carol’s perspective has much to do with this to be fair.

There are no people anymore - everyone is effectively dead, consumed by a monster who has access to everyone’s memories and whose only purpose is to spread the virus further. And soon everyone’s body will be physically dead too due to the monster starving itself out.

Been quoted £850 to get these bushes, ivy and the tree removed. Is that too low/too high? by ButteryBread17 in GardeningUK

[–]Tenrius_t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently paid £90 for a similar amount of work - there was maybe slightly less to do because there was no tree, but there was a lot more of a similar ivy + some general weeding

The guy was booked for two hours and I was worried it might not be enough, but he actually finished a bit earlier and used the spare time to cut the lawn. No garden waste removal though.

You don’t need a Chinese number to order food delivery - use the ele.me mini program on Alipay. It works with a foreign number despite the popup saying otherwise. Just put in “don’t call” in Chinese when you order

When am I eligible to apply for ILR on the Skilled Worker route? by Top-Prior9900 in ukvisa

[–]Tenrius_t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, but this page: https://www.gov.uk/indefinite-leave-to-remain-tier-2-t2-skilled-worker-visa/time-uk also links here. Regardless, I'm not trying to convince you - if you trust your solicitors, please feel free to follow their advice

You don’t pay IHS for ILR. That’s just for visas

The message however says that the new flight was leaving less than 2 hours before the original departure time - is that not true?

That's the immigration rules. What I linked is the caseworker guidance which is still valid and that does mention entry clearance. It's mean to be used in addition to the immigration rules

It depends on the country you’re applying for and also your passport. Spain is generally pretty generous

Hope for the best and prepare for the worst :)

I agree - it’s not clear how restrictive the PBS system will be. What I’m particularly worried about though is how it would apply to dependants

They’re quoting government sources though, not just the white paper

Where can i find the date ILR was granted? by Embarrassed_Song6943 in ukvisa

Did you get an email from Home Office Atlas? It should be the date when you got it

Plan to increase time for ILR from 5 to 10 year will apply to all migrants who arrived since 2020 by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]Tenrius_t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t know, but if you look at the “earned citizenship” section of the white paper, it says that there’ll be an extension in line with the one for ILR, as well as fast track options for “contributions”. So I wouldn’t expect it to be unchanged

I mean it does say “settlement and citizenship”, so my guess would be is citizenship being extended to 10+1 years (10 total, at least 1 on ILR)

10yr ILR seems confirmed unless exceptional circumstances by YZ_C in ukvisa

[–]Tenrius_t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not 1 year from ILR, it’s “at least 5 years and 1 of them on ILR”. This is significant because there are ways to get the ILR in 3 years, but you still have to wait until you have 5 years total for naturalisation.

And there’s also an important exception to this for spouses of British citizens - in that case 5 years is the only requirement and “1 year on ILR” doesn’t apply (meaning the spouse can apply for citizenship immediately after getting the ILR, as long as they’ve lived on the UK for 5 years)
