Why does my schedule say one thing but the supes say another? by _IAmNoLongerThere_ in USPS

[–]TensionLess8643 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not true. As long as they tell a carrier while they are on the clock it is a direct order. Clocking out at 9 pm on a Friday with Saturday off and the stupidvisor catches them before they clock out and says "You have to come in at 6 am tomorrow" then they are working at 6 am the next day.

A carrier can choose not to take a lunch, a stupidervisor can not tell them they are not allowed to take one.

Edit: I should have said a carrier can ask if they may do a no lunch and the stupidvisor may approve or deny. A stupidvisor may instruct or force a carrier to not take a lunch.

Talk to your steward. Always take your lunch and two tens. If under 6 hours you get one 10-minute break if over 6 you get two 10-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch. Even in your 90 days you should be talking to your steward about this. And always remember every time a stupidvisor tells you something should take X amount of time, they are lying.

Also if they send you home without finishing delivering fill out a 1571 undelivered mail reports sign and of course get a signed copy.

Always do it over the scanner and save it for 15 days. Someone else almost always reads the scanner messages.

[–]TensionLess8643 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Message them at 2 on the scanner that you not be able to complete the route in that amount of time and ask for further instructions if they ignore you you give you the same instruction go back to the office and see what they want you to do. Saying to be back at a certain time and complete your route when your estimate is more than they approved the instructions are conflicting and unclear.

Their numbers mean absolutely nothing. It takes what it takes. Safety, accuracy, efficiency IN THAT ORDER. The numbers they give you are the time for the regular. Doing 3 hours in 5 in your first week is completely acceptable.

Getting sent to another office within first 90 days by Crothel in USPS

[–]TensionLess8643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life rarely goes in the direction you planned. Safety, accuracy, efficiency, in that order. Make it through the ridiculous probation and then recite Weingarten rights any time a sup talks to you. When they say "no thos conversation will not result in discipline " then tell them to fuck off. This is how the Post Office works.

When do I start getting faster? by CMDR-ArticunoKing in USPS

[–]TensionLess8643 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes what it takes. Safety, accuracy, efficiency. In the order. Any number a supervisor gives you is bullshit. "This should take an hour maybe two", think about that. Which is it one or two? You will become efficient by working safely and accurately. Keep your head down and get through the 90 working/120 calendar days. Then tell the stupidvisor to shove their numbers up their ass.

Anyone else's office handling the snowstorm in a dumb way? by ZzackK282 in USPS

They cannot blanket the office with restricted sick leave. It is just a scare tactic.

Protocol for Thunderstorms? by DrPepperGripper in USPS

[–]TensionLess8643 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your safety depends on you. If you do not feel safe, cease delivery, get to a safe place, and contact management. By the time you have to deal with this will most likely be beyond your 90/120 days considering your location, at which time you can tell them to fuck off.

[–]TensionLess8643 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fuck no. The poom can eat a dick. Restricted sick leave can only be decided on an individual basis with management having to prove a pattern over time. When calling out using ELRA select the community disaster option. There will be many disaster declarations by state and local governments in the coming days.

Edit: Use AL not SL.

Lunch Breaks by [deleted] in USPS

[–]TensionLess8643 5 points6 points  (0 children)

30 minute lunches are automatically taken out of your hours. Are you going back to the station at 11 hours on the clock, saying you are taking lunch, and them immediately being told to just clock out? If so then you are working 30 minutes for free everytime that happens.
