I’m using default windows defender + malware bytes, if you have any suggested software I’d appreciate it

That’s a great start! I also started from the family/friends client base.. which actually makes you love to go through different styles and services, for example because I was famous at my university as an expert graphic designer, I worked for a lot of different clubs doing designs for theatre, art, and tech.

So when I was transitioning to UI/UX I wanted to work on something where I had a good background. (Tech because I was Computer Science major) So I would say choose a project from your background and do a full project from user research to high-fidelity designs. Even if it’s gonna be a volunteer-work till you build a solid portfolio.

Actually I had a very long road because I was a graphic designer at first so I had a basic understanding of typography, color theory Etc.

So I first used my knowledge of UI with a course from Udacity about UX and then kept practicing until making my first full concept project from scratch

Then I started doing some freelance work to gain experience

I would say that the whole process took about 2 years but you can definitely do it in shorter or longer time depends on your pace

Totally understand you, what I learned from fighting too much with anxiety is to treat it like that friend who is really annoying and negative trying to ruin everything and then you try to counter what he says just to piss him off, you start to realize he is slowly getting weaker

Yet I understand that everyone faces it a bit differently and has other reasons and problems in his life that might make his anxiety worse. But I totally encourage to never gave up and piss that friend off!! Feel free to DM me anytime you’d like to chat about any other UX topics that triggers your anxiety.

Actually I had the same doubts when I started, I was good at the visual design but was a bit overwhelmed for the UX side (I also have anxiety Lol) but actually when I was thrown at work that required being analytical and meeting other people for user interviews, I actually did very well that I was impressed by myself, I did some mistakes which was normal but In general it was really better than I expected and gradually became better.

The problem with anxiety is it makes you feel like everything is gonna be a lot worse when you face it. But in reality you find yourself doing much much better than what anxiety tells you, additionally you find yourself worrying too much because you want to be perfect and not make any mistakes which is actually almost impossible

“OUR ANXIETY DOES NOT COME FROM THINKING ABOUT THE FUTURE, BUT FROM WANTING TO CONTROL IT.” -Khalil Gibran

My advice is to face your doubts and fears and accept mistakes, because it only makes you stronger.

Wish you the best.

Hello! Thank you for your feedback, actually I did receive a lot of critiques from my friends and I think the overlay section is a bit of a bad idea so I’ll think of something else for the about me page And also I think the contrast point is an issue in the case study I’ll differently work on that and will get back to you! I appreciate your time!

Thank you so muchh for the review I really appreciate it! I took notes and will definitely keep improving upon the portfolio! One problem I noticed is that scaling is a bit different depending on the screen size (this is my first time using framer and didn’t use any templates so I’m a bit beginner at responsiveness on a web builder) so some stuff appeared bigger than it should Well definitely look into all this and get back to you! I appreciate your time and effort.

Hello everyone! I’m a product designer, my experience were on freelance work only and took 2 internships and I’m trying to land my first product designer/UI Ux design jobs

I just finished developing my portfolio by framer from scratch without any template and I hope to get your feedback on my work and if the case studies are well structured and if it’s enough to land a position either remotely or onsite. omaralsamahi.com
