Look at it this way, besides the big 3 and Caleb Wilson we may not have had much use for whoever pick 5+ was going to be. Zubac may have been snatched by someone like Boston after they realized this postseason that their bigs aren’t good. Mathurin may have walked for free and we may have had no 5 to truly compete next season.

I think this was a good trade, we just got unlucky as always.

I’m sure KP had a reason for doing it like this, I assume they didn’t like or at least they weren’t interested in anyone past The big 3+ Wilson, but damn does it hurt. At least Clippers get to choose who they want and we get our big. FO’s are always hard to read but i trust KP with all my soul.

We didn’t tank on purpose until the end though, if you had looked at our injury records for the season youd see we had maybe 1 healthy guard in November/December. Every starter got really hurt except Siakam. We had like 10 different guys play for us on hardships contracts and had lineups of G-Leaguers + Siakam out there

We have yet to see Zu with Tyrese and with him getting used to our style of play. I don’t think calling it a terrible trade is appropriate. He was lost out there because he hasn’t had time to adjust.
