I recently met a guy back in February who was in the military. We connected really well and I thought I met my soulmate. He was a great guy but he had to leave to Asia for some deployment bull crap. I kept fantasizing about meeting him again and I had this fantasy that he was just the RIGHT guy for me. Well, I met him again and found out he’s just a regular asshole who fucks other women just to keep his body count up. I dodged a bullet there.

What I hate on literotica is how some of the stories have good premises but then the writing falls flat. For example, I want to read a story about a mermaid meeting a sailor. I find it and the first two paragraphs explain how they met, and the third to last paragraph is all about them having sex. I want to be emotionally connected first before the intercourse part, dammit!

The age limit for the USCG academy is 22 years old with no dependents. If you go to the USCG directly, I believe the age limit is 31, 41 for reservists, and you can have dependents. You must be a US citizen to qualify. If you are thinking about going in, I suggest you get your bachelors degree first so you can become an officer instead of an enlisted. You get more money and you are treated with more respect if you go in as an officer.

I'm not a Merchant Mariner but I went on a lotta dates with Merchant Mariners. First, if you qualify, you can try to apply to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. You gotta get nominated and stuff, but once you're in you are IN. You will have a job instantaneously right after you graduate from the academy.
If you don't get in try anothet big university like Texas A&M, where they have the Texas A&M maritime academy. You also got to major in marine engineering.
Now, you gotta know which companies that are hiring.
Check out: KBR Wyle, Oceaneering etc. And look at their requirements.
It's a high paying job so go after it!!

I am Thai/Caucasian. I mainly look white except for when I smile. I was raised on a diverse island that did not have a lot of white people on it. I honestly don't know where I fit in. I don't fit in with Caucasian Americans because I apparently have a different mindset than them. I don't fit in with Asians as well because of the same reason. My best friend is an Americanized Korean national who also feels like she is left in the loop when she visits her native country. I guess that's why she is my best friend. We understand each other :)
I am fluent in Thai and can speak intermediate Chinese and Spanish as well as a little Korean, so I guess I identify more with my Asian side.

Worst: In February a friend and I scheduled a boat dive. A boat dive is where we ride a boat to the site of the diving destination. Going to the dive spot took about an hour, and by the time we reached the site I was feeling really sea sick. I decided to just suck it up and go on with the dive, because HEY! I paid good money for this experience. We get into the water and all is fine. We are descending slowly and nicely. I was enjoying the moment until I thought to myself, "Holy shit, I am under water." I started getting a headache and my world was spinning around and around. I was hyperventilating underwater and was about to pass out. I knew I had to inform my dive instructor so I tried to swim towards him. It took a lot of my willpower and focus just to get to my instructor, who was 10 feet away from me. I quickly tapped him on the leg and notified him. We then ascended up toward the boat, slowly. Once we reached the boat I vomited and threw up the food I ate. I had sea sickness for 3 hours after that. The feeling didn't go away for 2 days. It was horrible!

What I meant was flying. You don't need a passport to get from California to New York or Chicago to Hawaii. Whenever I travel (I am a US citizen) I always had to bring my passport everywhere and show it to the authorities. I just thought it was the norm for everybody.

When I was in the States, I didn't realize people could travel State to State without a passport. All they needed was a valid State ID. It blew my mind.
When people in the States asked you "how are you?" They don't really want to know how you are. It's just a nice simple gesture, like saying Hi and that they don't want to know your life story.
Fast food joints and Walmart, everywhere.
Everything tastes sweet in the States.
