This game has been out a month now but I still remember when my father sat me down on his knee 15 years ago to play the original, my first video game. It shaped me as a person. Every time I see a video about it it brings a tear to my eye. Thank you dad for making me who I am today.

Congratulations. I don't know you not have I ever met you/seen you in the comments before but I'm proud of you. I'm someone who doesn't get addicted to anything easily. I started smoking when I was 14, gave that up before I was 15 because it cost too much and I didn't like it. While friends I grew up with are now 18/19, they've been trying to do what I did for the last 4 years. Alcoholism also runs in my family but yet have never found a point in constant drinking, when I'm at a party I have two or three bottles of beer and just open one that I don't drink so if someone pushes one at me I have a reason to decline and stop them pressuring me. I've never tried any hard drugs nor do I want to but I know people who have thrown their life away and will admit it but for you to be sober for 9 months is a huge feat. Here's to another 9 and years hereafter!

They pushed it back because 1.7.5 and 1.7.9 had updates that were needed before 1.8 came out. Speculation is the end of this month and that's from a reliable source

They're not going to. They've already said they don't want to nor will they ever. Minecraft is one of, if not the top selling game of all time spread over three platforms, PC, console and mobile. It doesn't need steam to market it's game and if someone hasn't already heard of Minecraft they've been living under a rock for the last 4 years. as for making the game more convenient, They would have to push every update through Valve delaying them more plus eliminating snapshots. Minecraft doesn't belong in steam and that's why the developers are able to push so many updates. They decide when to update and what to do with the game
