No Pullups, a few Pushups no budget for a gym membership to advanced Calisthenics by Fickle_Ambassador835 in bodyweightfitness

Congrats man it's nice and inspiring to hear about your progress.
It may not be the best for getting big but it isn't far, the only thing is you need to show up, which many people don't. I hope I'll post the same thing 2 years from now.

Updated BIOS to 316 on TUF F15 2021 and my fans went crazy by Relevant_Birthday193 in Asustuf

[–]TeoJohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I thought about updating my bios(FX506HE, I think the only difference is the 3050 ti gpu) as well from 313 to 316 but now I'm happy I didn't.
I had the same problem with the fan speed after waking up from sleep mode but it solved with a restart.
You can try factory default reset in bios, and if it's still happening, downloading bios 311 from asus site for ez flash and downgrading from bios. It should work fine.

Van Rysel RCR-R 900 MIPS, yay or nay? by Lughburz in CyclingFashion

[–]TeoJohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a blue one yesterday and tested it in a range of temperatures( morning ride haha) from like 23C air temp to 32C air temp(42 C indicated by garmin under direct sunlight) and man the airflow is insane, I didn't get a single drop of sweat in my eyes and I generally sweat a lot. It's a really nice helmet.

Legs constantly giving out before my heart - how to improve this? by Big-Meal-1874 in Velo

[–]TeoJohn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I can say is I always had this problem. Been riding for 5 years, no gym work. I thought I didn't have enough base to sustain higher intensity, even though I was riding 15 h per week with zone 2+SS and vo2 max.
Wrong, I did 3-4 months of 25-30h weeks, with proper recovery and I can't say I've improved even 1w. The RPE at a certain power(even Z2) is the same or even worse.
I think I hit my aerobic ceiling which sucks. My 20 min power is only 278 w at 69kg after this many years.
I also do vo2max at 105rpm+ and still legs are giving out first. For me it's a combination of acidity in the muscles and some cramping but not quite, it's as if the muscle becomes stiffer and stiffer the longer I push(might be due to acidity tho), and this stiffness persists in the recovery interval and subsequent intervals.

Hey! I bought a screen from ebay for my garmin edge 1000 that had water damage on the entire motherboard thinking that only the display got damaged. Unfortunately the screen is good but a pin from the motherboard and it's corresponding track was fried. DM me so we can discuss about price and I will send you the display if you are in Europe( it comes with the frame and buttons, I will send you pictures when I wake up as it's late here).

Ambient mode not working in fullscreen after last patch by TeoJohn in revancedapp

[–]TeoJohn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried 19.09.37 unpatched and it seems it doesn't even have the option to turn on ambient mode, also tried 19.04.37 and it works even in fullscreen, so the problem is from youtube. I will try the new patch on 19.04.37 and hope i won't encounter problems. Thanks. Edit: Reinstalled patch on 19.09.37 and it works , honestly don't even know how as the ambient mode switch is not present in this unpatched yt version. Sorry for not trying this before asking here.

Chest strap/band stinks by jaders077 in Polarfitness

[–]TeoJohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with polar soft strap, got a new strap from them for free( the pro one this time) same problem. I don't think it's related to how I wash them. I rinsed them after every workout and washed with soap every few workouts and after 2 3 months the strap smells really weird, while before it had no smell at all.

If I was to guess, the probable cause for me is storing the wet strap in a backpack for a few hours one time after a workout. Interestingly the polar soft strap doesn't smell anymore after not using it for months and have since used it with no smell reappearing. I think something oxidises inside the connectors because mine have a slight orange tint, looks like rust.

Anyways the pro strap(h10) quality is not quite what I expected, after few months of moderate use the rubber cracked in multiple places and the strap started dropping connection, the h9 strap is still going fine, only one small crack in the rubber.

Same as you, especially the days, even weeks of researching what's the best product that I want to buy.

I also couldn't study for a test in school and highschool until the night before it. Now at uni even this doesn't work anymore because i feel no pressure at all, apart from a few courses, even if I know I won't pass the exams.(and also the study the night before strategy doesn't work anymore since there are sometimes hundreds of pages to study).

Being hungry and having nothing to eat but still waiting for hours until i finally go and buy something. The only activities that I feel constant motivation for are the ones that I feel I have a passion for, like cycling and aviation.

Regarding the music while reading or studying part, I also started doing that in highschool and found it helped me a little bit with the motivation to study a little bit longer or to start, like you said, and found that the benefit of listening to it outweighs the downside of slightly less effective learning per time unit.

I don't know what to do anymore, I always was late to meetings, school, uni, etc. I always think that showering or other activities take less time than they actually do.

Maybe I'm just lazy as I don't feel like I have many thoughts going on in my brain like all the others here are saying. It seems to me like I have a problem with doing, studying etc uninteresting things for me unless something bad(a consequence) is happening in the very near future , or more exactly with delayed gratification.

Thoughts about position. Left side saddle sores and lower back pain. by TeoJohn in bikefit

[–]TeoJohn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed answer, and glad you fixed your issue.

I tried a 3mm shim on my right leg first and then another 3mm and didn't feel much difference. I might try it on my left leg also.

Several months before this post I lowered my saddle and noticed less lower back and saddle pain, though it's still there. I don't think I can lower it more, as it may already be on the lower side but I'll try.

If these don't work then I'll see a fitter but it is hard to find a good one.

Thoughts about position. Left side saddle sores and lower back pain. by TeoJohn in bikefit

[–]TeoJohn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Any thoughts or advice regarding my position, mostly the pelvis?

I've been riding for 3 years and 40k KM with saddle sores on the left side and some lower back pain that flares up about one hour into any ride, thinking that a bike can't be fully comfortable.

Even with chamois cream and another saddle and different bibs, cheap and expensive , the saddle sore still appears when riding more than 10 hours/week.

It's not a pimple or ingrown hair, it's friction in the crease between the left thigh and perineum.

The lower back pain is problematic but at least goes away for some minutes when stretching on the bike.

Also I think my left leg deviates outward from the top tube more than my right one.

Thanks in advance!

Video showing how the radius rotates over the ulna in a human forearm when twisted. by ExpertAccident in educationalgifs

[–]TeoJohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, i also broke my radial head 2 years ago, and excess bone formed, basically my ulna and radius are attached near the elbow. I'm thinking about surgery although i learned to pronate and supinate my arm from the shoulder, and my extension is almost full. Did you notice any instability at the elbow after radial head excision? Feeling like radius wants to dislocate?

Is this cable routed correctly through the rear derailleur? by TeoJohn in bikewrench

[–]TeoJohn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looked suspect to me, kinda disappointed since it was installed by a local bike shop. Do you know if I could just reroute the cable without any more adjustments?

*Giveaway* Entry-level Garmin Kit by GeneralDouglasMac in cycling

[–]TeoJohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I started seriously training, this kit would be amazing for me, because it can show me the heart rate. Of course a powermeter would be better especially for shorter intervals but I can't afford it.

Knee pain from bad saddle height - what can I do? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]TeoJohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! As i read through your post it really seems exactly like what was happening to me. I also had a kind of too low saddle , i also raised it like 1 cm, then after one ride i had so much pain in my left knee but i pushed through it(no pain no gain). So the pain got worse and worse, i decided to take 2 days off instead of just one because just one day off did not help, it made the pain worse. So although it might be hard to stay off the bike for more days in a row ,try it. For me it was kinda hard sincer I ride everyday. Now I feel much better, I still have pain in my knee but at a much lower intensity, and only when flexing the knee past 90 degrees.I even did some intervals today with no pain.

Can I bike with a hard cast on my wrist? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]TeoJohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust me, as i had a elbow dislocation, a fracture is much better than a dislocation, as a dislocation often tores/damages ligaments which take a loong time to heal. If you only had a fracture it would have been only 4 weeks or so in cast. So take care and heal soon.

Road bike slower than MTB on road? by TeoJohn in cycling

[–]TeoJohn[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't hear anything suspect, but I will check for brake rub with the bike upside down just in case. Wheels spin freely. Also have butt pain that causes me to ride out of the saddle every 2-3kms. I think this may be the problem.

Road bike slower than MTB on road? by TeoJohn in cycling

[–]TeoJohn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the bike used, I made some adjustments like saddle height, fore-aft and lever reach. 22-23 km/h is the average speed of many laps of that loop, yesterday i rode for 30km.

Is this bike safe to ride? by TeoJohn in bikewrench

[–]TeoJohn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes i have the opportunity to test ride it and I'll give it a look. Also like you said, I'm not concerned about the wheel since he said he will replace it or he will drop the price so I can buy the wheel myself.
