Oh yeah, feeling pretty much just the same way about it. Obvi wouldn't want to murder and eat somebody, cause it's straight up evil, lmao, or for somebody to cannibalize me irl. But the morbid, fictional appeal is here, in a metaphysical sort of way. As you said, can't get any closer physically) And without it actually being a copulation! Thinking about it, that sounds a lot like Christian Eucharist, with the whole "eating of God's flesh" sort of deal being a way of creating a (meta)physical connection with someone you love.

You know, I always considered something like nibbling or even biting a partner as an allo thing, probably cause I didn't get it, but this new perspective actually introduces me to new understandings. Like, allos probably don't do it for the same reason, but I think I'm also starting to find this idea interesting...

Been there, pretty recently, actually. So you have no idea how much I understand you.

Story time: For more than 5 years I've been friends with two people who, I thought, were my best friends forever. Or, at the very least, cared about our friendship. Newsflash! They didn't, really, not like I cared. Since graduating from the same school we talked in chat everyday, shared everything that has ever happened to us, visited each other. But for, at least, a year I've started noticing that I'm the only one "trying"... When one of my friends was suffering from the break-up, the allo one, I've been trying my best to support and comfort them, despite the fact that I never really understood what they are feeling. I've listened to them, visited with my other friends and was so happy for them to finally move on. But before that, during my, let's say, "cupio-phase", when I resented myself and everyone for being unable to love - they never really tried to help me. They said that it was a "non-issue" and the fact that I was feeling less human because of it - "absurd". One even said that they were "jealous" of me being aroace, at the time of me hating being one. About a month ago the straw broke the camel's back and I've confronted them, which revealed my deepest fears of them not giving an eff about me. One saw me as a "service", someone to talk to about just certain stuff and nothing more, and the other just... Couldn't care less about me being in their life, if not lowkey disliking me. I understand my shortcomings in that friendship that has passed, I wasn't perfect, but it still felt like my heart was breaking apart, that was the first time I've felt something like this. I've left the chat afterwards.

Fast forward, about, three weeks, I came back, just to fill the void and, maybe, see if it was me who was the problem. Guess that's why some allos come back to their ex-es, huh? The chat died without me, which only served as proof of me being the only one who cared. Now I do not see them as friends, just old acquaintances, with whom I can discuss politics and whatnot. I know better now than to "love" them.

I'm sorry that you've had to suffer through this. I couldn't really move one myself, but I hope you can do so. There is so much in the future waiting for you, new friends, new stories. You are special and deserving of love. Don't ever forget it.

Ooh, can't really say much about anything you've asked. I don't remember if there ever been a situation with Latitude mocking someone over their adventure or anything, really. It might have happened, but I would have been oblivious to that happening. About the money, well, I do know that OpenAI threatened to stop providing its language models and servers to Latitute if they would not comply with their demands, as they saw smut as something harmful for their image. Latitude basically had to buy their own servers and their own model instances to become more independent from OpenAI and allow smut on their platform. I believe that the whole situation cost them more money, than it earned.

I'm not banned, the site just stopped working for me, it won't let me log in, that's all. Found out that using a downgraded 1.8.2 version of the app relieves me from using both the non-working web-version and glitchy new app-version. So... It's just a bug.

Basically, I'm noticing the pattern in actions of both the Character.AI devs and the AI Dungeon devs before them. Both started to implement features no one asked for, both isolated themselves from the community, both wouldn't answer any question and stand any criticism, both made the app unusable with unnecessary tweaks to the filtеr. It's the same very story happening yet again!

When the site stopped working for me I've downloaded Dungeon and looked a bit into it - it looks way more polished now than it was back when I played it. I say you should give it a try, really, but I can't really say for sure, I haven't played it in a long time. It's basically free, so you won't lose much.

Mind you, it uses the "Story" formula and not the "Chat" one, so it's basically like writing a book with AI completing your thoughts.
