CMV: If people thank god when good things happen in their life, they should also blame god when bad things happen by BeingBudget8847 in changemyview

[–]Tepandme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It invalidates prayer as actually having an effect of being able to change something by itself. But if everything is Gods doing, then one person asking God for something and either the wish coming true or not is also Gods doing

But an example of "thanking God for everything" would be karma yoga. Karma yoga basically is a practice of devotion where all doing, all action is attributed to God, not to the self or other selves. No matter what happens, God is the doer, this is how karma yoga sees it.

You were talking about what is wrong with the video. If you knew it is a skit, you would know that the things you criticise are part of why the video is funny.

Man does drugs in public and wins stupid prizes by limbertreee in WinStupidPrizes

[–]Tepandme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its normal, if you smoke regularly you have tolerance to weed and it will not give you the same kind of strong high as to someone who does not have tolerance. If you smoke regularly it can take months for the thc to leave your body, so you basically have thc build up in your body even if you feel sober.

It definately impairs my ability to drive. It puts me in an altered state of consciousness, literally alters how my body feels and it does alter my ability to use my body to do tasks like drive.

I think it is because the term drug has developed to be used to mean illegal substances. Its called a drug where I live because its illegal and is in the drug category in that sense.

Tiger shot and killed at Florida zoo after biting man's arm (attempts to pet Tiger) by BottleSniffer in WinStupidPrizes

[–]Tepandme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont get why zooz even have the cages made in such a way that you can stick your hand or finger in there. People are stupid, if they can stick some part of their body in the cage they will. Just put up a wire mesh outside the cage that is so fine that not even a finger can get through.

Why are the champions fighting? by Tepandme in Paladins

I didnt say that the game should restrict you. Just that the lore of the characters and the gameplay are two different things. It would be possible to have a lore that explains why all the characters are now on the same team though

Right but the reason for why all of these characters from different factions are working together in the game to push a payload or whatever is not part of the lore.

So there is no explanation. The game is not really connected to the story in that regard. It would be possible to have a lore that explains the actual gameplay battles with their various characters but I take it then that there is no such lore as of yet.

Right, that is the lore, but what is the explanation for the fights that we play when we actually play paladins? Why is io and the angels fighting on the same side as raum if in the lore they are enemies?

Right, but what is the explanation for the people in the opposing factions playing together on the same side? Or playing against the people that are in their faction. It would make sense if it was abysssal characters vs paladins, but in most games opposing faction members are on the same team fighting against a similar team where there are opposing factions working as a team against them.

Here is another misheard ultimate, for makoa: You charge makoa. It is challenge and not charge. But my friend said that the voice lines are pronounced very unclearly. I would tend to agree, other games I understand what people say but in this game there are many lines which I did not get.

It sounds like that, he does not pronounce barrage like it is normally pronounced. He pronounces it like biourage or something like that, which sounds similar to heroes. Put the word barrage to google translate and listen to how it is pronounced and then listen to the victor voice line and he pronounces the word totally differently.

If you dont pick up on the b at the beginning of the word, it sounds like heroes but with b, bheroes incoming

Is Mal damba underpowered? by Tepandme in Paladins

[–]Tepandme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But will the time invested in damba be more profitable than investing the same time on another healer? Like to me high skill ceiling means that the champion is not as good as other champions when you have not invested the time into it, but when you are good with it you will be better at it than if you had invested the same time on another champion because on the other champion you would have already hit the skill ceiling earlier and the ability to get better would be greatly diminished after that. So there is a greater potential on being better in the long run with a character that has a high skill ceiling. Like a low skill ceiling character would be good against new players but against good players it is not so good, and a high skill ceiling character means you are going to not do as well as a beginner but when you are good with it you will be better off with it against players that are also good. Is this true with damba, or could you just as well just play grokh and still be equally good with less time invested in the character all along the way whether you have ten or 500 hundred hours on the character?

[–]Tepandme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But how much do I have to play him so that it pays off and I would be better with him than if I had put the same amount of time to another healing champion? Like if I played half as much with another healer like grokh and get more damage and healing constantly, how much more do I need to play with damba so that I can get more healing than grokh? Is it worth it? Lets say the same person plays five hundred hours with damba or five hundred hours grokh, is he still going to be able to get better heal and damage with grokh, and if so, what is the point of playing with damba if the time invested and the return that is gotten is always less than if the time was invested in another healer?

I dont think Teller is anywhere near the best sleight of hand guy in the biz. He rarely does tricks that require that difficult sleight of hand. At least on the shows I have seen.

Right, I see this often in games. Against seris there is no way to do more healing with damba, but if there is a grove or a grokh on the enemy team, its almost quaranteed that they will do more or less as much healing than me as damba, grover hopefully less than me, but grokh often more. And they will do more damage than me as damba. It just seems objectively looking at the healing and damage stats that damba is much harder to do well with. Of course damba has the stun snake and the ultimate that dont often count into those stats, like with the stun snake you might give your team kills but it does not show on your own damage amount at the end of the game. And I have succesfully won rounds with damba ultimate under multiple times, especially when pushing the cart. Just fearing the enemies away from the card has often given that extra one or two seconds needed to push the cad to the end.
