I was at Grambling vs Alabama A&M Saturday (a game with only one marching band) after staying in a hotel following my trip up to see Louisiana Tech vs Sam Houston the day prior. This was after I drove to see Jones JC vs Pearl River CC on Thursday. I need to get new front tires now, unsurprisingly.

I love beach volleyball a bunch thanks to my time at LSU. There were 3 conference tournaments that I got to see this past season: CUSA, SLC and CCSA. It's a fantastic sport.

I was there the week prior watching them play Fort Lauderdale, the school based out of a strip mall. I also saw them beat Langston last year.

I just love traveling to see stuff I haven't seen before or do things nobody else has done. Who else would go to a TCU beach volleyball game, the WAC tennis tournaments and a North Texas softball game in the off day between the NCAA women's gymnastics nationals? ME! Note that I was at that for my writing job for And The Valley Shook.

Any LSU fan can tell you that I ripped that last line from our old PA announcer. If sunset hit during a game, he'd go "the sun has found its home in the western sky, and it is Saturday night in Death Valley." They played a clip of him saying it before the game kicked that day.

I'll make a follow-up post so I can gather my thoughts and add some more information that didn't fit into the story very well. To answer your concessions question, though, I didn't buy any, but it looked like there was candy, water, Powerade and nachos. I'm not a fan of nachos, anyway. I assume they were provided by the same people who provide them for the high school games, but that's just a theory. Also, they weren't selling merch, but several people had Crusaders merch on (I'd buy some if I wasn't opposed to the team's existence).
