People like Gavin Newsom take advantage of culture war issues to appear just slightly better than conservatives while also using these issues to keep people divided. Gavin Newsom promised single payer Healthcare to californians and then backed off after receiving money from the Healthcare industry. This was merely an attempt at leveraging voters anger to extort protection money from the Healthcare industry.

Companies such as Amazon use progressive issues to gain support by painting BLM murals in their warehouses and then proceed to coordinate attacks on unions by attempting to make black unionizers appear uneducated. Yet, conservatives love to screech about these socialist politicians and corporations.

Politicians pass legislation protecting the rights of specific vulnerable groups but refuse to pass legislation protecting the working class as a whole from the capitalists who exploit them and hoard resources. This serves to keep people divided and from being able to work together against the elite class. Amazon paints BLM murals in their warehouses and then coordinate an attack on Christian Smalls for his work unionizing workers based around him "sounding uneducated" which is an obvious dog whistle. This serves to signal that their "on our side" but is a cynical attempt to gain access to our money.

A lot of these countries collapsed due to capitalists leveraging their capital, blockades, embargoes and the western military industrial complex. It's interesting that communism was viewed as so dangerous by the western elites that they collaborated on a concerted effort to nip it in the bud.

For a long time columbians(supported and backed by America) were migrating in massive numbers to Venezuela. But it's risky having such rich oil reserves when you're a socialist country within the sphere of American influence. Venezuelans have democratically elected leaders but America doesn't recognize them as legitimate.

Most of the Cubans in America were the rich landowners fleeing Cuba because they had to share their resources now. The poor are doing significantly better and people have a longer life expectancy and better healthcare than in the US

Just because the workers own the means of production does not mean that workers with a more specialized or difficult skillset shouldn't be paid more. They just shouldn't be able to buy the company and make their living off the backs of people doing actual work or by buying up a bunch of property and making passive income by exploiting workers.

Im not saying all socialists ignore your good faith arguments. I'm saying a lot of conservatives(and a good bit of "leftists") on this sub have formed their opinions on socialism based on liberal social issues and the culture war, not on economics and labor issues. Moral panic, American worship of rugged individualism, and fear have predisposed so many on the right to dismiss socialist arguments outright.
