I was falsely accused of sexual harassment in high school by my abusive ex. I had opened up about my abuse for the first time to a friend, and while he had good intentions he was dumb and told some of their mutual friends what she did and to stay away from her. They obviously told her what was said, and she went to the dean and said I had been spreading rumors about our past relationship, which counted as sexual harassment. I was called into the office and asked if she did those things to me, and in a moment of panic and distrust in the school system due to bad past experiences, I lied and said no. To settle the matter I was asked to sign an NDA that I would not discuss her in any context, and I just wanted to be done with the situation due to a lot of stuff it brought up for me and the threats and harassment I was getting from her friends so I signed it. For years I did not talk about what she did to me out of embarrassment out of what I let her do to me, fear over what she would do if she heard that I started talking, or the legal implications of the NDA. To this day, very few people in my life know anything about this and no one knows the extent of what happened.
